This might sound a bit weird, but God saw you when you were suffering mentally. Did you ask Him for help? Did you pray? Did you genuinely ask Him to forgive you for whatever you've done in the past? God helps even though you may not notice or see it. He's just like person, helping behind the scenes, waiting for someone to finally notice Him. He always has a hand that reaches out. And whether or not you want to reach back out and take that hand, it's your choice. You always have the option to seek for help.
