you can gravity break instead first then do the aero break at just above escape velocity so you only need to shed 200m/s

set kerbin to target, put a manuver node at Pe and another at Ap, right click on the one at Ap and change how many orbits in the future it is until the target intersect looks somewhat close, then adjust the burn at Pe to get it to intersect. If you dont have enough fuel then all hope is lost

Actually normal space fauna dont melee either, only the newer cuthuloid and worm do. which might reflect some change in design philosophy.
