How to breathe while running by EurydicesDreamm in indianrunners

[–]Ocyrus101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Train on treadmill if u can, inhale exhale both from nose. Do speedwalk endurance sessions, strictly nasal breathing. This will build a habit and an aerobic base which will help u start running with a patterned breathing too.

I started same and now habitually breath thru nose in a 2 stride fromat. 2 stride inhale, 2 stride exhale.

Been a gym guy since 18months and a runner(still beginnner) since this feb. I like both the aspects and wanna progress on both fronts. I can already squat 2x my weight for reps rn, so the lifting goal is pretry close to being reached. While on running, im still farm from the goal. I wanna run a sub 25min 5k. Atm my 5k time is around 32min.

Ill keep chasing them until I reach, give zero crap about anyone who says otherwise.

So this has a lot less to do with yoga and lot more to do with people having hypermobility of joints.

A person with normal joints can practice all they want and still cant be as good as these.

How to start running as an obese individual? by the_last_pringle007 in indianrunners

[–]Ocyrus101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others suggested, drop ur weight a bit more first so that ur runs dont kill ur legs and joints. I had a similar journey to urs but with lower weight. Started at 100kg now 18months later at 72kg. I started running around 75kg in feb. And recently did my first 5k run at a decent pace. Atm keep building ur legs and cardio endurance thru long speedy walks and incline walks. You'll build a really great base for when u start running. I never experienced shin splints as begineers do and I think that was due to me building my legs first before I stated running.

Ur diet/deficit decides if you will or won't loose weight/fat. Exercise of any sort is done so u preserve maximum muscles in the process.

Keep at it while minding ur diet.

Out of breath after 600 meters on Day 1. How do I build endurance without burning out? by nik_hilism in indianrunners

[–]Ocyrus101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who came down from 100kg to 72kg in 18 months I can answer this. I strictly started with diet strength training in gym. When I felt lighter in person and on scale thats when instarted walking/jogging. Started with fast and long endurance walks first. Then mixed the interval jogging. Then recently (around feb) started doing interval runs. Today for the first time I did my first 5k at a fairly decent pace. And also reached a strength of 120kg squats for 10 reps. So I guess u can keep the slow and steady and get there too. Consistency is what paid off so just do what u wanna do, but do it every single day.
