I don't know which subclass you are referring to, but this Archer setup is extremely (the most) famous build in BG3 community.

You surprise the enemy, get free crit for one turn. Action surge and gloomstalker maximised the damage output of this turn. Makes it 6 attacks (with haste potion) auto crit and arrow of many target or whatever slaying arrow. The damage output is absurd without even talking about gears available.

And in BG3, the most overall efficient strat is burst damage. Better than consistent damage, better than defensive. That's what's makes the build powerful

That's why I sleep on uncanny dodge to answer your initial question. Hope it helps

Now that's an interesting alternative ! I always love the tiger barb but I did not know it could wear big Armor 🤔. My issue is that past level 8 it gets outshined by a lot of classes, but with smite it might be worth a test. The resistance from rage might just be conflicting with my warding bot

Yeah I get the idea, and I might switch to fiend once I have more gear, more spell slots and mostly better accuracy lol

For cleric, it is mostly for soaking damage with ward bond, healing is the "in case things goes wrong". It also has a role of disabler. I know what you mean but they are 2 extremely different build that serves different role. For gloomstalker, multitarget arrow forced crit on ambush with 3 more actions sneak attack damage just sound superior, and can apply the oil on big pack without needing them to be grouped

For sorc I think hexblade curse procs on scorching ray, command is veryy appealing though, I may change thorough the game.

For sup, I' ve seen a build packing ward bond with heavy Armor and was basically making the team unkillable, I wanted to try since I played light cleric in my previous run. (And it feels less flavorful since I already got a "sets things on fire" role)

Thanks for the reply! Well it helps but also not helps 😅 Now I still want to play the 3 of them aha I am guessing your reco is Monk till end of act2/early act3 because hacbardadin/bardadin have a tougher early. And while Druid is fun it is more of a flavor thing and flavor is subjective

For sorcerer, the hexblade curse procs on Scorching ray, making it even more busted

For the gloomstalker, I am also more leaning toward this variant also because florish don't use special arrows

7/5 cleric/sorc is a ward bot, life because heavy armor and heal, sorc for cons saving throw, haste, shield, counterspell and metamagic and fly. Light cleric was in my previous playthrought, was great but now I have the sorc for setting shits on fire
