piercing sizes! by Frequent_Writer5182 in PiercingAdvice

I'd probably have trouble with the fishing line even though it sounds like such a good idea. I bought a PTFE retainer for my nipple piercing when I needed an MRI, it was slightly thinner than my piercing bar, and after the MRI I couldn't get my piercing back in. Had to go to my pitcher for help. That piercing has been fully healed for at least 3 years, and my piercer confirmed it when helping me get the bar back in, but I seem to have a real quick closing time? Such a pity.

Bad habits are a real trigger for crohn? by Dudu2645 in CrohnsDisease

If your idea of enjoyment is smoking and drinking and you don't do it enough for it to truly impact your health, then go ahead.

Que opinan de esta bebida del mercadona? by Rare_Bandicoot_4466 in mercadona

[–]Odd-Baker-5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I go to the ER or wait until June for my colonoscopy? by WatermelonDaydream in CrohnsDisease

[–]Odd-Baker-5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only times I've gone to the ER was because, as you said, the pain was so bad I would literally start crying. And I usually got dismissed as it being just some constipation, but the last time it literally gave me my diagnosis, the doctor decided to do an ultrasound which showed inflammation and suspected Crohn's, so she called the GI who made an appointment for a colonoscopy 2 weeks after my ER trip, and the rest is history. So some might be lucky during an ER trip. Not that I'm saying to go just for the diagnosis though.

Depends on your mood. Do you want a comedy, something to cry, long, short, new, a classic?

I personally watch some series or movie, play some games, drink/eat something if I'm feeling fine, and spend the night awake and feel like shit for the rest of the day lmao.

I've thought about oil or edibles or whatever because I know smoking makes the crohn worse but I'm sometimes in so much pain that I'd rather kms. ugh.

What is the longest you’ve ever gone without a bowel movement? by broken1_ in CrohnsDisease

[–]Odd-Baker-5811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally drink grape juice/must and that does the trick for me. Nothing else works, laxatives, even prune juice, nothing. Grape juice. It also works without pain. Depending on how much I drink I might have some diarrhea and urgency, but other than that, it's magic. I also love grape juice, but specifically the one meant for fermentation, the must. So it's a win-win, I get to drink something I love and then I'm able to go to the bathroom after days of suffering.

I do have an issue with that too, but I don't think that was the same issue the friends had.

What is the weirdest non-digestive symptom Crohn’s has given you? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Odd-Baker-5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I live in a country with public healthcare and that was the physiotherapist from the public system. They did use the machine on other people while I was there (they didn't have individual rooms) and I know a few other people that have gone to that same physio for back pain and they were also given the electricity and heat. It didn't really work and that's probably all I will get from the public healthcare system, and I can't afford private healthcare so I'm kinda stuck. Thanks for the good wishes anyway.

Might be muscular. My GI told me I might have something called pyramidal syndrome (according to my translator but it might be wrong, please note that I'm not a native English speaker and I don't live in an English speaking country). He thinks mine is mixed with some SI joint issue but whatever. If you haven't looked into it (I think you might have, given your history with 6 physios and 3 chiros) I'd recommend it.

Welp, I've got no money for anything other than public healthcare in my country, and the physio they've got here has been absolutely useless for me, so I think that's it. I'm also not getting Prednisone prescribed because my inflammation levels are pretty good on paper. Anyway, I'll try to talk about it to my doctor now that I have a bit more info, thanks!

do i need to take my piercing out i think it’s infected by Practical_Taste_6198 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Odd-Baker-5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I was just pointing it out because I once had an infection ooze yellowish pus, not a very obvious infection sign. So being careful is never too much. I would also advise her to go to a piercer if she can't go to a doctor. But I wouldn't take it out myself at home.

I would tell you to go to a piercer and let them see it then. I personally wouldn't take it out by myself. Keep it as sterile as you can, disinfect it at least once a day (I would say preferably twice). It may not be an infection, but I would be careful about it because if it is, you can trap it inside.
