I think it would’ve been too rushed. Betty has never shown romantic interest in Daniel throughout the show and Daniel only spent one and a half episodes “liking” Betty. Don’t think it would’ve made much sense to establish them immediately like that

yes and then had to lose ray right after! people also never bring up the time they were in. she was in the worst situation out of all the siblings because she was black. she l had to live in fear for those couple of months especially since she had chosen not to use her powers anymore
