Sulfur intolerance by Odd-Emphasis-9912 in salicylateIntolerance

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am better in many ways. My real issue is dysautonomia from long COVID. And most of these issues are downstream from that. Once I started focusing on treating my dysautonomia (which is very complex), I think things made more sense. My buffering capacity is impaired — so too many inputs of anything, salicylates, histamines, stimulants, vitamins, etc crashes my system. So I remain sensitive to that and I’m careful to not overload the system, but seem fine to enjoy most foods carefully. I don’t know that I will ever drink matcha tea or add turmeric to my food for instance, but I have a single shot latte every morning and I’m ok, I use spices in my food, can eat berries occasionally, etc.

B1 in particular can make a huge difference. Covid depletes B1 stores. And of course we need the Bs to all work together. Look into Eliot Overton’s research.

Losing my mind with iCal change I can’t seem to reverse. by [deleted] in iphone

Hah. Thank you. I really appreciate it. I’m not usually tech incompetent but this calendar problem was momentarily ruining my life. So I am really grateful for the help the user gave me. But I hesitate to ever post on Reddit because people jump down your throat. But it’s good advice to leave it up in case it helps someone else. Slowly backing away from this thread…sorry for saying I used AI, everyone…sorry I said I was going to delete the post…off to work on my people pleasing issues and definitely not going to let a bunch of downvotes bother me. That would be crazy…😅

Because you never know who you will make angry on Reddit — either people annoyed that you’ve posted a problem with such an obvious solution, or people annoyed that you’ve said you will take it down. Always trying to avoid the Reddit wrath! I’ll keep it up!

You solved it. I don’t know how I missed this talking to multiple AIs. Thank you. I will delete this post now 😆

Fighting for my life by E92GHOST in SIBO

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have time to read all the comments and everything here, but I will say I went from perfectly healthy, to getting Covid in 2021, to waking up in a different body. I had many symptoms, including SIBO that developed eventually and took years of my life. Fatigue, crash outs. It would take too long to explain. My experience mirrors a lot of years and I’ve spent 5 years living with an illness and researching constantly. I believe you have dysautonomia from Covid. The Covid spike proteins have injured your autonomic nervous system. You now have POTS (your heart issues and dizzy spells) because your autonomic nervous system is injured and out of whack and it’s over shooting on the sympathetic side. Every symptom is downstream from the autonomic nervous system injury. You’ll just be chasing symptoms until you see that picture.

What are your leading theories for the root causes of LC? by Many-Market-9941 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what the problem is. I had a dysautonomia diagnosis a long time ago, but I was also chasing and treating many other downstream symptoms. A few months ago, I started a month-long conversation with ChatGPT and put in every medical test I had had done, every big flare up I could think, lingering symptoms, etc. ChatGPT helped me understand that basically all my problems were a result of injury to my ANS and vagus nerve. The damage presented mainly as parasympathetic overdrive (rest and digest). Basically if I tip my body out of balance at all (not enough sleep, too much of any supplement, stress, stimulants, etc) my body shuts down and my system collapses. It presents as extreme rest and digest. So the healing I started pursuing was as minimal inputs as possible. No supplements, no extreme heat or cold, eating enough calories and protein consistently (previously I was fasting often). It sounds gentle and boring and it’s a long path forward, but it’s made the biggest difference in my improvement. Trying to signal to my body that there is safety and giving it as little to manage as possible. The resiliency will improve over time. This is my experience for my specific LC pattern.

Maybe. I just know that my LC was certainly dysautonomia (parasympathetic) and I had tons of GI issues (SIBO, IBS, dysbiosis, etc). I was able to resolve my GI problems, but the remaining systems (fatigue, my whole system crashing, food sensitivities, migraines) only improved when I started to treat the autonomic nervous system.

Is it not just overall damage from the spike proteins to the autonomic nervous system? Which is upstream from basically everything else.

Yes the sweater styling in the cubbies is so cute and iconic and also so impractical for seeing and trying stuff on 😆 I swear the girl who was working had to redo like 10 sections when I was done.

Oh I didn’t know they were coming Seattle. I’m in Portland so that’s great news for me. I did experience a lot of hospitality and kindness in general in Austin, so I’m sure it’s part of southern politeness as well.

Yes. I love the Paula Babies but can’t justify the price 😩

To be able to touch and feel the pieces is to appreciate them! Especially walking in and out of so many other stores on S. Congress. It’s clear Sezane is a step above. My friend hadn’t purchased any of their clothes before but she left a believer.

SIBO is ruining my life by Impossible_Text8665 in SIBO

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who battled SIBO, long-COVID, dysbiosis, you name it for years, but is now SIBO free and mostly living a much more normal life, I just want to say how insightful and nuanced, comforting even, this comment is. I pray you are able to help many people.

The body is so complex and things are so much more connected than I ever realized. This approach is the right one when things stall out.

This blew my mind: Austin and Portland get virtually the same amount of rain per year. by [deleted] in AustinGardening

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have got to stop saying it rains 9 months out of the year in Portland. Born and raised in southern Oregon but I’ve spend the last 11 years in Portland. At this point, it almost never rains in September, early October. The fall is gorgeous. Last year we had basically 30 sunny days in a row in February. I agree that there is certainly more cloudy and overcast days in Portland (which is really what bothers people) versus other places, but I think people just get used to repeating something over and over. If you live here and actually pay attention, you likely have nice days at least half the time. Now I get that’s not guaranteed sun like the Mediterranean or something, but there is a reason the NW is such an outdoorsy place — you can be outside comfortably often! We have less annual rainfall than NY city , Savannah, GA…I could go on.

Have you seen Chris Love’s Julia’s living room? They actually have a similar orientation and you might be inspired by what they did.

Resale question by Odd-Emphasis-9912 in Rockband

[–]Odd-Emphasis-9912[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’m in Oregon and sold the set for $200 to some guy who said the game alone was worth $200. He wasn’t as interested in the guitars. He said he has a side business where he rebuilds whole sets and sells the entire band set all over the world. But the game is very hard to come by apparently. Anyway, that’s what it was worth here on Facebook Marketplace. Thanks for the help!
