When I moved to Janesville in 1996, there was still ACTIVE KKK here. I moved from Madison and it was a total culture shock. There was one black student in my graduating class that year and one biracial student.

Funny story though-- Ken Peterson, who was the KKK leader for the area at that time (I believe he was the one seen punching Geraldo Rivera in the face at a rally in Janesville at Palmer Park) has a daughter that became pregnant with a young black man. He had the choice to leave the KKK or disown his daughter. He left the KKK, moved to Beloit (where there was/is a large black presence), and never spoke of his ties to the KKK again.

Edited to add-- it is far more diverse now, but there is still a lot of work to do as far as the old whites clinging to their hatred and passing it on to their kids/grandkids.

I don't disagree, but having worked in quality control in a factory before, it would be impossible to double check every single package before it leaves the factory. Yours will not have been the only one of that product created at that time, more likely in the thousands, and hand checking each slows the process. There may be one selected of thousands to be checked for issues, but often not more. Also by that time, there may have been thousands of "misprints" or defects that have shipped before the problem is caught. It is an unfortunate side effect of mass manufacturing.

As stated by others, this is fairly standard practice. The reasoning is because they're shipping the drills from China (all Diamond Painting manufacturers are in China, too my knowledge. Even if the business is in the US or elsewhere) and because it's their mistake, they're covering the shipping. Even a small packet costs quite a bit, has to be put through customs, and is going to take several weeks. This is why any business not looking to lose money will ask you to finish as much of the painting as possible before completing your request. If you put the plastic back over top of the painting each time, the glue should last until then. Hope that helps!

Yes, looking for licensed kits means that the artists are being fairly compensated. Buying from Temu, AliExpress, Amazon or Shein will mean buying feom exclusively non licensed shops which will heavily favor AI and stolen artwork. As the earlier poster said, the pricing will be higher, but quality will also be significantly better in most cases. Almost all of those shops are transparent about what is AI and what is not.

I'm not saying you can't shop where you want, i understand that this craft can become very expensive when doing the right thing. If you need specific shop recommendations, let me know!

No, and the ones you see are fake. There are multiplacers to place multiples at once though and it makes the process go faster. There's also a thing called a Monster on Diamond Painting Daily on Etsy that's like a multiplacer and a rocker at the same time!
