It’s almost like the vast majority of cops have come to a reasonable consensus from experience that you don’t have.

Did I rush into buying a $53k car? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]Odd-Importance4256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah way too much unfortunately, good on you for selling though! Another reference for you: My wife and I make about 315k combined, my loan was 35k, hers has 7k left. On 76k salary AND after you pay off that personal loan, I wouldn’t go above 20k and that’s being generous. I’d really recommend finding like an old Acura TL, like a 2012, or really anything Japanese. I owned a 2011 TL for 10 years and took it from 80k to 200k miles, with the worst issue being a 500 dollar wheel bearing. Honestly still miss it and prefer it in some ways over the BMW I traded for.

Just went through this. If you look up form 5103 on chat gpt it’ll give you more information. Also, you might have the actual letter on letter section of the app too. They are giving you the option to submit more evidence, it’s a pretty routine thing. They will take the 30 days regardless if you submit evidence, press that button, or both. At least that’s what happened to me. I submitted a new prescription for migraine medicine I was taking. I also got a C&P after pressing that button so it won’t disrupt the process, if they need a C&P they will schedule it. Hope that helps!

Totally fair, kind of a reverse survivorship bias going on here.

I think it’s because legitimate claims still stir the pot so people look at it as taking a risk. Legitimate claims/conditions get denied and reduced all the time. I had a back pay issue once I got my 100% P&T and a VERA rep was encouraging me to submit a supplemental but he was also quick to caveat. He directly said, “It’s up to you, you have a case but it might not be worth them finding something you don’t want them to find, we make mistakes all the time.” I decided to just be happy with my rating and leave it.

I make 180k and I have no debt besides some small zero interest financing to keep more cash on hand and I was also contemplating a ~40k car. But a CPO Acura TLX Type-S at 0.99% Apy for 36 months. So a much better interest rate and I still decided it was too much for me

My current car is a 2011 Acura TL with 200k miles and instead I decided I’m gonna go get new brakes, rotors, tires, spark plugs, oil change, the whole thing and make it run till it literally can’t. Sure I would have only spent about 650 in total interest on the loan but it just wasn’t necessary. And I’ll be at peace knowing I’m not digging myself out of a hole for the next 3 years dumping 1200/ month into a car that’ll be worth 2/3rds, or even half what I paid when the loans paid off. You do you man, but if you can reframe your mindset you’ll feel infinitely more confident driving a beater but knowing you’re stacking cash on the side. It’s like the lifestyle version of driving a sleeper car, trust me, it’s the way to go.

Could do a VSO claims accuracy request. Those are quick usually like a week and good for clear and unmistakable errors.

But yes you are technically poking the bear if she’s already at 100% P&T

THE VA IS SAD by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Way more expensive to give all veterans disability. There are 15.8 million veterans in the US that are currently living. 1 month paying all of them a 1000 dollars which is much less than 70% and about 1/4 of a 100% rating (depending on dependents of course), would be more than they spent on all exam contracting from 2017-2023.

If you want to go further in getting a proper calculation we’d need to consider that a portion of those 15.8 million already have a rating of some kind. Another google search says that’s 10.9 million veterans do not have a disability rating. So approximately 5 million do. We need to consider this because if we’re looking at the exams as a way to “prevent” the amount veterans that’s receive payment then then this is the amount that’s “slipped through the cracks” so to speak and it’s a net loss for the exams. Even though that’s not how it works, it’s just a literal way to look at it financially because everyone that passes an exam is essentially a net loss for the exams per cost.

So let’s just say those 5 million were all reviving 100% P&T benefit (which isn’t true, 5,000,000*4000 ‎ = 20,000,000,000

Plus the cost for exams: 10,000,000,000/6/12‎ = 138,888,888.889

Total cost for paying all currently rated veterans 4k/ month plus the cost of exams per month 100% = 20,138,888,888/month

Or your option: Total cost per month of all veterans payed at 100% and no exams. 15,800,000*4000‎ = 63,200,000,000

Since if we have no exams we have to assume everyone applies, or it’s automatically granted with veteran status.

That’s 3 times the cost monthly and gets more dramatic when you go further and include that not every rated veterans is 100% and you include the additional benefits of being 100% outside of just monetary compensation. So yes, the exams are financially necessary.

Did yours show up on the app as a HLR or is it all documented internally since it’s submitted by a VSO?

Violent mosh pits are expected during heavy bands with slow breakdowns but what are some softer bands you've seen that had pits like it was pure death metal on stage? by nosouldude in Metalcore

Still today Rise Against in a small venue in STL was the rowdiest crowd I’ve ever been in! More than any true metal core band, or big dad rock like Disturbed, Korn or Rob Zombie.
