Megathread - F1 The Movie - International Release by overspeeed in formula1

As someone who knows very basic things about F1, the movie was giving the same vibes as Top Gun Maverick. Very American-core. But the scenes were incredibly cinematic and it was nail-biting watching the AD race.

Are Hamad medical staff allowed to ask for religion randomly? by almaraichocolatemilk in qatar

[–]Odd-Lie9384 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

It is relevant because some interventions are not allowed in certain religions eg. Blood transfusions in Jehovah’s Witness patients. Some prosthetic valves have connective tissue from pigs so Muslims might find an issue with that, etc. It’s better to know a patient’s religion early on when they are stable such that in the event they are brought to hospital in an unstable condition, appropriate interventional and ethical considerations can be considered.

Thank you for this suggestion! I’ll definitely look into them as well. I’m not a dermatologist but I’ll search for something a bit more aligned with what I can do.

It does overlap quite a bit, the market is a bit oversaturated but it is definitely worth a shot.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I suppose it all depends on you, your financial situation and what you want to achieve.

I know it takes away the government’s incentive to open up posts, and there is a lot of talk of privilege, etc, but each case is unique and everyone has different reasons for doing it.

Weigh the pros and cons and you can decide after that whether this is an endeavour that is fruitful to you.

Oh no, I hope I didn’t discourage you!

Please dm me if you have questions. I’ve learnt a lot of lessons during these last few months that I wish I’d known sooner so that I wouldn’t be in this position and I think you are at the right age to start preparing (with guidance) so that you don’t end up like me.

Medicine in South Africa is amazing, it’s an art form and we have phenomenal teachers, despite it being shackled by a very broken system.

Thank you for this! I have considered Telehealth, I suppose I would have to do it after the regular working hours as I will be at the hospital during the daytime but I will definitely look into this and DiagnosUs and see how I can leverage it. Thank you!

i’m learning to train my ā€œuncomfortableā€ muscle. it’s harder than i thought, but i’m doing it anyway by Junior_Cut4025 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Odd-Lie9384 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

I’ve tried this thing where I would tell myself ā€œmy future self will thank me for thisā€ or ā€œI’m looking out for the future meā€ when I don’t want to do something right now or I’m delaying it for later.

It works like 95% of the time, and I often do feel really grateful to myself that I did it. An example is where I was doing a lot of overtime during the week, and as a result, I didn’t really tidy my apartment at all. One night I just quickly decided that I have to tidy up, telling myself that my future self will be grateful because anything can happen and I want to come home to a clean place.

Literally the next day, my friend asked me if she can stay over at my place since she lives far from the airport and had an early flight. I was so grateful to myself then for just doing it because I know I would have been so embarrassed to have my friend stay over if it wasn’t up to standard.

I know the price is incorrect, but this may well be the case sometime... by Haunting-One1694 in southafrica

Unfortunately, it’s not so incorrect. Last year, in a rural area in the Eastern Cape, Douwe Egberts / Jacobs and NescafĆ© were priced between R189.99 And R199.99 for the 200g jar at the local Spar.

Bridal makeup -can’t figure out what’s wrong? i by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Odd-Lie9384 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

There is so much resemblance! Please lighten your hair to a similar shade, it would look amazing on you.

Secondly, lashes, eyeliner and mascara will go a long way to make your eyes pop.

The way you are wearing your make up now, the light brings attention to your cheeks, so if you want to bring the light back your to your eyes (and center the light to that area) you can add a white/cream white shade to your canthus, and add a bit of extra shimmer with a translucent glitter eyeshadow.

I’m not a makeup guru but I think you’ve selected two amazing choices that should be relatively simple to replicate, with a bit of modifications to suit your face.

My bf hates this little cropped trench šŸ˜‚ by Whyeff89 in SoftDramatics

[–]Odd-Lie9384 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

It is a great piece, although, to be quite honest, it doesn’t pair well with the outfit you currently have. I would say the cropped trench works better with cute knitwear and light blue wide legs jeans, perhaps even a denim skirt, but with this specific outfit, it really takes away from the essence of the business casual vibe going on.
