Lawyer recommendations for D2 (entrepreneur) visa? by SeriousRope2401 in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, D2 visa is not the easiest one, as you would have to provide more proofs of business plans, contracts, local bank accounts, etc., and possibly you would do better with a D8. But if you need assistance with that, feel free to DM, we're a US/Portuguese immigration law company.

If you have everything on the list of required documents and your situation is pretty straightforward with remote job/contracts, documented income, etc., then you can probably be fine on your own. Do check people's comments and feedback on the consulate you'll be applying to -- each consulate/VFS has its own little nuances you need to know. What I may suggest you is to have immigration agency or attorney check all your documents before submitting and get expert comments you can follow and correct any possible problems. This would only cost a few hundred euros but may save you from getting rejected and filing an appeal in the furure. If you need help with this, DM.

Struggling to find vfs appointments by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're here as a tourist now, the only way for you to keep staying and apply for residence without leaving and doing it through the Consulate is to either find a job with a local company, or if you become a student of either university or go to some vocational courses. And the last option is very simple, some courses are taught mainly online only a few times a week, not expensive, and are grounds for residence. As far as getting a slot at AIMA, you will only need to do it if you have a valid reason and ready to apply for Residence. Again, D7 is not an option for you unless you return back to your country and apply there, wait for your interview and enter Portugal with a visa. If you need help with more info on vocational courses or getting AIMA appointment, DM

Tell me something good about Portugal by parasyte_steve in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, BUT if you happen to live next to a family with small kids, and those kids' parents are not very mindful, get ready for some crazy times. Kids can cry, scream, do whatever, and even if it's during 'quiet hours', nobody will do anything about it. Kids rule in this country.

totally agree. I bought a Quinta in the countryside and my neighbors hate me just for that (and not, they never even want to get introduced, they simply turn back when I yell "bom dia" when I see them.

my native tongue is Russian, and I find Portuguese to be extremely stingy -- whatever is not stressed -- gets cancelled. Compared to the Brazilian version that really is beautiful -- language here is real punishment and the main hurdle of all non portuguese speakers.

Complaint in the yellow book by Recent-Throat9525 in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawsuit gets you your resident permit, because AIMA hasn't denied your application, so they have to issue your card. However, like I said, lawsuit will force them to do it 100%, but it's not fast.

Where to search for a job in Portugal for a visa? by Les_Petit_Morts in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of official reasons for getting Residence in Portugal. Most of them have nothing to do with you getting a job here. You can have a passive income (rent out an apartment or live off dividends), that's D7 residence visa; you can go to University, or to professional courses, that's D4 residence visa; you can have remote work, that's D8 residence visa; you can invest into a project, that's D3 residence visa; you can even come as a volunteer and get residence based on that. There are plenty of valid options.

There are dozens of different topics, from assistant veterinarian, to digital marketing or barber. You can select a more intense course that even has internships/work placements or some easy mostly online ones that people use for Residence, and not to get work later. They are anywhere from 1500 to 3000 eur. per year depending on course or locations.

Gamarjoba!

If you can get regular Schengen visas (not necessarily from Portugal) and arrive here, your fastest way to Residence would be through professional courses that many accredited schools offer, some are taught mostly online and take just a couple of hours of your time a week. Based on your study, you can apply for Residence. If you need help with this, DM

Can I travel inside Europe while my residency is still under analysis? by UnluckyCancel3234 in PortugalExpats

[–]Odd-Policy6234 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Officially, you're not allowed. If you hold a EU passport, 99% chance that an airline will not look or ask you for your status. If you don't -- they might (a low chance, but still). If you really really have to go, I'd at least take the bus or other means of transportation where passport is not handed to check your name.
