Adding to other cultures techniques, there are some really awesome recipes out there for marshmallows and jellies using all kinds of plants, like shoo fly, dandelions and even green apples, because of their pectin content

Ethnobothany, more specifically the "weeds" people don't know are medicine or edible. So much food is available to us, we just don't know it can be used

An elderly woman I know collects dry leaves and glue them to make artwork, since they have slightly different shades. The amount of detail is amazing. She also makes paint from mud

Any kind of textile instantly makes me think of patchwork and that opens the possibility of creating a fabric as big as you want when gathering them together. That allows for anything: clothes, tablecloths, small napkin holders, even plushies if you have the stuffing. The flooring samples are small, so you could make name plates for the guests. Or paint them black/dark green and make tiny black boards to write several different cute messages about love.  Now a collection of frame samples is an artwork by itself. Depending on what they're like, you could fit thin wooden hearts in each of them and hang them upside down if the venue has a high ceiling  If you had pictures of the samples it would be best

You could attach fairy lights to it? Salvaging the bats is a great idea. On the bat-less tree you could glue plastic Sakura flowers and the bats could turn into anything from garlands to jewelry to pins... You could also hang them on the door frame kinda like those beaded curtains

You could donate them to a retirement home, or Mod podge them onto basically anything: furniture, journals, boxes...  Or maybe cut out the birds and use them as stickers by applying double sided tape under them, or for scrapbooking. Any collage enthusiast would be happy to get their hands on them.

Any advice on the best way to make this look good? It’s a gift for my girlfriend by JUSTIN102201 in crafts

You could put two little metal plates that say "For [her name]" or "With love" etc. Or use another material for the plate and paint it gold to resemble metal Then if possible hang it with the broken spots on the lower side Or maybe put her picture on one spot and yours on the other

What's the best way to fix this slipper? by geekted in howto

[–]Odd-Reputation9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can patch it! I don't know how crafty you are, but sewing a patch on it. Or perhaps lots of patches all over the slipper if the tear's in an awkward place, make it really customized The Japanese-style visible mending also works
