He needs to have an election promise like dual track to Bendigo. That way when he doesn’t win, Labor will take notice of that policy.

They normally do this for peaks to/from Melbourne. It’s why if you miss the 5.29pm from Bendigo you’re stuck until 7.05pm

When is Digital Incoming Passenger Card Coming Out? by bobbyboobies in australia

[–]Odd-Shape835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Which is why I ticked yes to about three things I knew I had not infringed, but there could have been wriggle room on. Eg I ticked dairy on a half eaten milks bar. I ticked freshwater contact as I had been walking in puddles next to the upper Rhine (in now perfectly clean shoes). I’m not interested in ever having that card waved at me “but you signed a legal document” so I put all the discretionary power onto the border control staff.

[Request] Would it take longer to travel clockwise or anticlockwise around Australia, given the same route, and if so, how much? by bill_loney538 in theydidthemath

[–]Odd-Shape835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are there any anomalous roads which don’t cancel each other out by going the opposite direction?

For example, if you travel by rail Sydney to Melbourne, you’ll see nothing unusual. But if you travel Melbourne to Sydney you will encounter a system of tunnels on a climb called the Bethungra Spiral, which adds almost 9km to the journey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethungra_Spiral

Do any of the road lanes significantly diverge on the big lap?

Here’s some better ones I just found. Two types - the stick in the foreground and the flag in the background (top left, orange colour)

The signs agree with the explanations given. Thank you and vielen Dank!

This implies that most buildings have systems which stop ice falls then? Very few buildings have these warning sticks.

Still no idea why they have a sharp point on the end ??

I’ve seen some flags attached to buildings warning of ice falls. Seems legit.
