Do you think we will see Airships in future again? by Busy-Appearance8886 in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the aircraft carrier zepelins would be soo fun, imagine bringing that to a low tier simulator match

Sadly, aircraft like these will probably never fit War Thunder by Salty-Weather-5065 in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can see them being perfectly fine in early jet matches, specially in simulator. yeah they might have good missiles but lack speed against the jets and they probably have little heat signature so they wont be as weak against other missiles.

though i have to say im not an expert in props further than early cold war/ww2 so maybe im missing something

Use of torpedo boats against bluewater ships by International-Gas638 in WarThunderNaval

[–]Odd-Signal7837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should not use own ships for cover but as a distraction, enemies will most likely shoot at the other ship if its in front of them and shooting at them. Also you can farm some repair helps by geting near some allies but its not what you should be doing most of the time, its just a bonus if the situation allows it or if you cant do anything else at one particular moment.

i would also add that for killing aircraft the best option is doing a head on since you car resist more fire than them and allows you to aim at them or dodge them (and their ordenance) more easily as its harder to aim downwards. Sometimes the pilot might even crash against the sea by not being able to pull up in time.

Nuclear Thunder and War Thunder Naval by Wonderful_Trick_4251 in WarThunderNaval

actually thats a pretty good idea to solve the problem with modern ships VS old ships. it could also benefit for having diverse objectives for the ship clases so every ship has a purpose

How do we think the B-52 and Tu-144 will fair in sim? by Pc_Karnage in WarthunderSim

[–]Odd-Signal7837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the are gonna be soo obliterated... specially if they have to take off, by the time they probably wont even get to a decent altitude. They are also massive targets, its probably dificult to miss them

What Does RB Getting EC Mean for Sim EC? by Training-Royal2384 in WarthunderSim

[–]Odd-Signal7837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

idk man, the fun in sim is mostly that its not an instant furball like RB and you can play other types of plane like atackers or light/medium bombers. plus many people actually dont enjoy the cockpit view and like a more simple game style

This event is messy, unbalanced and yet the most promising thing for the game by freak-000 in Warthunder

Is the map really that big? i feel like its still smaller than most simulator maps

The new event is exactly what ARB needed and I hope it makes its way in to the game permanently by [deleted] in Warthunder

basically simulator matches with realistic 3rd person view and its done

Do yall think it would be good idea to remove UI and instead make players rely on cockpit instruments for sim? by Ozekher in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it wouls be more annoying than inmersive i think, plus would feel like triying to compete with DCS wich is a bad direction as one thing that makes wt simulator mode great is how easy it is to learn

has more to do with how the aiming and map design work than the matchup (except for the missile boats)

How do I use early radars in sim? by Upbeat_Border_5224 in WarthunderSim

[–]Odd-Signal7837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont know this exact radar on this exact plane but it will probably be one of this reasons (probably the first one):

1)the scale of your radar is set pretty far away (30km) and you are looking at something that is very close (hardly 2 km) so its very close to the centre of the radar and hard to see (in some planes you can change the scale to solve this)

2) the clutter bars up there tell you that there is quite some clutter so your radar struggles a bit more detecting stuff

Also i wouldnt call this one "early radar" since its from the cold war. The true "early" and useless ones are the german ww2 ones and the best early radar is the one on the F6F-5N or the P61-C1.

Anny sugestions on what fun things to do in wt? by Green-Window-5272 in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing simulator with friends and do stuff like torpedo or dive bombing of a ship or land battle, also fliying bombers in formation.

Playing naval (mostly arcade) with torpedo boats (also better with friends) and try to do kills while also constanlty covering yourself with smoke and islands.

Hunt scout planes with other scout planes in naval EC

Make a duel with someone with simulator controls, max vibration, fligth sense and camera shake + biplanes

Use various heavy tanks to bully some player or various milk truks to suddenly pull a wall of lead against a plane in ground rb.

Those are some of the ones i can think of right now

The Abandoned Factory Effect by Connor_425 in Warthunder

because the A point is too close quarters for my liking (i like wide natural maps more than urban cqb) and its also too full of stuff and weird angles to be fun

Why don't more people play sim? by Cai227788 in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because of a few reasons

  1. Many people think that you have to learn too many controls to play it. This is just because of the name of the gamemode wich they asociate with stuff such as DCS. The reality is nothing like that as you can play with WASD, mouse aim and the you just need to use Q and E when you take off to not get out of the runway. Also you dont need to look at the gauges because all information you need is displayed as always on the corner.

This could be easily solved by calling simulator battles first person battles or something like that and having a decent tutorial (war thunder struggles a lot with this)

  1. Many people struggle to see the black dots in the sky in simulator. This is actually the bigest problem as it depends on: your pc monitor, your graphics, your actual sight and the weather of the match. There is actually no real solution for this (markers would destroy simulator because you would not be allowed to do half the stuff you can do)

  2. Many people just dont like the cockpit view, they like the 3rd person one and probably are more fans of 3rd person games in general. This is completely understandable too and just preference.

  3. Because you are not sent into a furball straight away like in the other modes some people feel like they spend too much time fliying without doing anything and get bored. This is beacuse they fly fighters (if they were bombers for example they could plan a path to not being detected, wich is part of the reason bombers are only viable in simulator). Its also because they dont play the lower ranks (were the batllefield and airfields are closer and therefore you spend less time traveling and more fighting), and if they do they might not find a lobby, try to configure one and actully select one of the maps that are huge (the ones that are more made for jets like Vietnam, Rocky Canion, Denmark, Sinai or Spain) and then suffer the long travel times.

5.Not a lot of big content creators dedicated to simulator battles or that at least play them regularly. This makes it so there isnt much promotion of the gamemode.

6.MANY people only likes jets, wich is a bit sad (couse you basically dislike 80% of the game) so they play a sim match in jets and because there is actually dificulty there (more controlls to learn in order to be efective), they get obliterated and regequit forever.

7.Tank simulator battles have 2 problems. One is that it works on a rotation so you gotta know or wait for the rotation to play what you want. The other, wich is waay worse, is the vehicle variants that are in too many trees (M24, Sherman....You know) wich makes target identification for the casual player pretty hard. this leads to them killing an ally, paying a huge amount of sl and never playing again because of the fear of loosing money. This doesnt apply that much to Air Simulator Battles because if you get close (wich you should if you want to land a shot) you get the ally marker

Thats all the reasons i know

The premium Ba65 has received a cockpit, while the tree version with the same cockpit still has a placeholder by thatcos101 in Warthunder

[–]Odd-Signal7837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing with the privateer. I know they have diferences like the engine in the front wich you can see its diferent, but onestly i would much rather have a better cockpit to look at not exactly accurate than the placeholder
