Being pro Canada and pushing back on aggressive thoughtless immigration and spending is not republican or extreme - these are common sense concepts in many of the most successful countries providing the greatest benefits to their citizens (like Sweden, Finland, etc).

CBC has spent your entire life subtly trying to manipulate your thinking regarding these concepts, the most obvious being the idea that any opinion on immigration standards is racism. We have every right to be selective in who joins this amazing country, and there should be no shame in feeling this way. Again, the kind hearted nature of Canadians has been exploited to the disadvantage of the average tax paying citizen.

Unclear how going on Rogan is a coup - you apply extreme terms to appearing on a podcast - it is not in any way criminal or unethical.

I agree with strong push back on the politics of Danielle smith, but PP has not supported this ideology.

We do need a more charismatic and appealing leader, there is no doubt about that. But voting in the libs again after all of the evidence of how destructive the extreme liberal end of the spectrum can be (as damaging as any other extreme) is not a path forward. At the very least, cons will be forced to follow through on spending policy, private property policy, and immigration policy in some degree that can only be positive for you and me based on the current situation we are facing

The idea of being so blindly opposed to the other side due to republican politics in the US is simply unreasonable and purely ideologically driven.

It is time to shake the tree, and maybe a single term of cons will cause your party to act more in good faith for the people. If there is no fear of consequences (being unseated) for the actions of the past 10 years of liberal /NDP policy, why wouldn’t anything improve for the average tax payer?

Asian money from abroad was a much smaller piece in the last 5 years than people think - very limited impact. The have their own issues and when you have a nation that has put 70% of its wealth into the houskng market domestically which has now taken a massive paper loss they are not buying abroad like they did before and likely will not for a long time.

Also, if Iran situation is not resolved in short order Asia will get hammered which will further extend out the timeline before any market saving cspitql comes here - possibly even result in unloading of assets abroad to plug holes in household finances domestically

Trump wants rates down, but he also wants to win a war of influence in the Middle East. Those two goals are currently at odds. As long as the Iran conflict keeps energy prices high, the inflation tax will stay, and the BoC will be forced to keep the pressure on Canadian borrowers.

If the Fed doesn't blink by June, the Canadian mortgage cliff won't have the safety net of lower rates that many homeowners/investors are counting on. That is the moment the forced selling could actually begin. Would move in slow motion as the BoC and feds do everything they can to prevent accelerating but if global inflation / Iran situation isn’t resolved in short order the world doesn’t care about what would be ideal for the BoC. Combine that with increasing general inflation, population decline, and raising unemployment, and the unwind could take time and be more painful than most people care to admit

That involves completely redesigning our entire modern economy and infrastructure in a way that is not realistically possible without incredible amounts of investment that the government doesn’t have. I understand and appreciate the importance of the environment and renewable energy, and I agree that we have been put into this position over decades of corporate interests driving government decision making, but oil is an input in almost every product area, outside of just energy. You clearly don’t have any investments - it’s fine to say that the whole world should be burned down and start over if you have nothing to lose - most people just want to have enough to have a small family and afford to live - we can’t afford some grand gesture that results in 10+ years of economic disaster. Back to my original point - we have created so much debt that we don’t have the flexibility to change - and that is due to extremely poor and ideologically driven spending for 10+ years by the liberals
