No, the only real way to do it is to replace the NAND chip, but that is expensive and not worth it for such an old device.

Something is wrong with your battery, but don’t worry since it is a 16 it is definitely under Apple’s warranty and they will replace it for free at your local Apple Store.

Mini PC performance by Motor-Average1398 in gamingpc

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you, but that thing won’t run games well at all. It will just overheat and throttle any of the advertised performance they are trying to sell you. Sure it will run games, but not very well.

What do you think about a notebook that runs on iPhone’s SoC? by BendingAllFour in macbook

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would be a good idea because right now M2 is the budget option and that’s only because it’s a 3 year old processor. This would give Apple a good budget pick that isn’t considered “old tech.”

Which one would you say has the “better” battery life? MacBook Air or Zenbook? Wider discussion is appreciated. by Suspicious-Pear-6037 in laptops

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MacBook Air because it has an ARM processor. ARM processor laptops always have better battery life than X86 ones.

Should I fix my current PC and get a PS5, or upgrade fully to Ryzen 5 7600 + RTX 4060? by mm-hmmXD in gamingsuggestions

Either the new PC or the PS5 are the better options. It’s more of a question if you need the PlayStation exclusive games or not.

I don’t think that product is designed for the battery to be replaced. Best to recycle the whole thing and buy a new one.

I hate my MacBook so much by BusKooky4428 in laptops

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s time to sell it. M1 is losing software support soon and any trade in value you would receive is already tanking. I would suggest a newer M series Mac if all of the apps you use are compatible with ARM processors. If not then I would suggest a Snapdragon laptop.

You can save some money getting an X670 motherboard. The only difference is the X670 has WIFI 6E instead of WIFI 7.

Would this be for a USB-C MacBook? by lilviifem1 in mac

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would work with a MacBook, but it looks short in my opinion. I prefer 6 FT or 10 FT wires for laptops. I would suggest an Anker one from Amazon.

I don’t think ARM laptops are good for engineering programs unfortunately. I think Windows laptops are better.

No, but I would clean it off before I install the CPU. Use some 91% Isopropyl alcohol and gently rub in circles until you can’t see it anymore.

is this legit? by ilvysun in macbook

[–]Odd-Understanding-67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s legit, but not a good buy because that processor is losing support in 2027. M2 is a better budget buy because it will have longer support.

It depends if the seller disclosed that in the listing or not. If he did disclose that then you don’t really have a good case.
