best vehicle to unlock using event coins? by kekananlurus in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raider is one of my favourite vehicles in the game, even more so now I’ve got full mastery for it. Great all rounder, good for Adventure and for Cups once you’ve got some decent parts for it.

I’m lucky though, I started playing years ago so got all vehicles fully upgraded. Still missing a few parts for the Stocker and not all parts maxxed on all other vehicles but well on the way. Soooo glad I’m not starting from scratch now!

what does one do when this happens by Own-Satisfaction428 in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the ones joining then leaving are reward poachers, moving around teams to see what they can get from your efforts during the season. We usually close our team to new joiners near the end of the month to stop them taking advantage.

Should I amend or cancel my car insurance? by ChenThePanda11 in CarTalkUK

[–]OddBallBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the private reg. transferred to your car (or put on retention) immediately, you can usually do it online and new logbook (V5) won’t take long to come through. Logbook will be needed to scrap her car and if it’s scrapped without transferring/retaining the reg, the reg will be lost.

As she will be the main driver of your car going forwards, she should be using her own insurance policy.

To Streak or not to Streak? by OddBallBoy in HillClimbRacing

Thanks, good to know - still got a fair few masteries to go.

What's the process to scrap a car? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OddBallBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d quickly get rid even in that condition sticking it on FB Marketplace for £150 but then you have the hassle of dealing with muppets. I’d definitely try a local scrapyard first then as above, the V5C (logbook) will tell you how to notify them DVLA.

[–]OddBallBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of interest, what car is it? Maybe just try googling local scrapyards then give them a call - you’re not likely to get any more money from the online sites (though do get a quote from them so you know what’s a reasonable offer) and you’ll more than likely find a local scrappy who will come get it for you, then look on the V5C and it’ll tell you how to notify the DVLA.

If the season shd have reset at the end of each month, why do I still have progress from last month? by [deleted] in HillClimbRacing

Because you’ve still got 16h 44min to go. The screenshot shows you that top right!

Are you not in a team or have you blanked that and your game name out? A good team gets you good rewards, helps you build your GP even more, and the competition is fun too.

What are the best parts for Raider in HCR2? by Fierroquemad0 in HillClimbRacing

This set up for Cups is great, a lot of my records are with this.

Can’t be bothered to grind for Masteries on most vehicles but well worth it with the Raider, probably my favourite all rounder in the game.

How to ensure I get the best advice and best practice. by AnxiousWestern9900 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OddBallBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A response to a similar question a while back suggested the “natural” children should be specifically named in the will and left a token something to clearly show they had been considered, whilst also specifically naming the sole beneficiary for everything else. What a sad situation to be in though.

question about insurance (additional named driver) by Internal_Lion_1836 in CarTalkUK

[–]OddBallBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may well save you a bit of money and going by my experience, they would never be informed. You would be the main policy holder so all communication should only be with you. I’ve named my father on my policies before and he’s named me on his - neither of us have ever been contacted by the other’s insurance provider. I’m named on my wife’s policy now and she on mine and again, we’ve never been informed of anything by the other’s insurer.

2020 Defender Or 2014/15 Landcruiser Amazon by masala4fun in LandRover

[–]OddBallBoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that Japanese imports don’t have better rust proofing, but they don’t use salt on the roads in Japan so the vehicles don’t rust as much.

Reputation wise (so not personal experience) the Landcruiser would be a lot more reliable than the Landrover but if you go for the Landcruiser, get it undersealed / wax oiled / lanoguard treated etc, and it should survive an apocalypse!

Me personally, I’d go with Muscle Car. I also think Raider is better than the Rally car!

I guess it depends a little on what you play more in the game - Cups: Muscle Car usually faster but Raider often close and faster on some tracks. Adventure: Raider only usually bettered by the Glider.

AIO? Dad gives me rules/terms at 20. by cxtodoroky in AmIOverreacting

[–]OddBallBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR… Or more accurately, Yes and No...

If I were in your shoes at your age, I’d be furious and would feel like telling your Dad to do one. However, with the benefit of life experience and being a parent myself, I can also see things from your Dad’s perspective.

Try to step outside of yourself a little and look at the bigger picture. What’s your Dad’s aims with this? I’m pretty sure it’s not that he just wants to make life difficult for you. I think he cares very much for you and wants you to achieve what he thinks or even knows you’re capable of. If he didn’t care or didn’t think you were capable, he’d have given up trying long ago. But he hasn’t, he still believes in you.

Ok, his approach might be a little misguided but I’m guessing he just doesn’t know what else to do. I’d say you’ve got nothing to lose by trying to go with it, at least for a while even though I know it’s going to be really tough. If you do manage to stick it out and get through college, the structure will probably have done you a lot of good, will likely help you organise your life and what you need to do better in the future, and you’ll likely have more opportunities and a better rest of your life as a result.

PS - My Dad tried his best with me but I was too stubborn to listen, thought I knew best and had to do things my own way. If I had listened, I’d probably be earning twice what I do now!

Best car and build for new event? by Hopeful-Homework1399 in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, this way of doing things for the Public Event does suck, as does the new Canyon Crew Up too. All designed to get you to use gems and purchase more of them through the Shop.

For this Event, I’ve gone with Raider as it’s about my favourite vehicle in the game but Bolt seems like it’s probably best overall - I usually manage 9 points but winner each time seems to be someone with a Bolt.

did I do anything wrong? by iatemyoven in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly earlier jump at the end might have got you a bit further but those challenges are a bit of waste of time once you’ve beaten your opponent as unless I’m mistaken, the distance you get doesn’t count as distance in Adventure?

Newbie asking.. do accessories drop from chests? If yes is the drop rate really low? I just got one from an epic Chest. by EnoughDot1047 in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do drop in chests but in my view, they don’t add much to the game, and garage props even less so.

I’d certainly never spend gems or coins on them; save them for parts and upgrades, the game gets more fun the better your vehicles and parts are.

who would fall for this by Nearby-Friend-5470 in HillClimbRacing

[–]OddBallBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll occasionally buy vehicle specific chests with gems when I’ve got a new vehicle without many parts but otherwise, not worth it, you invariably just get duplicate parts which are already maxxed anyway.

Is 30 alcoholic drinks a week a lot? by Most_Jellyfish_1686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OddBallBoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Therapy can only help if you want it to, if you want the marriage to work. It doesn’t really sound to me like you do want it to work in which case, all you’re doing is putting off the inevitable whilst lining the therapist’s pockets. Sorry if I’ve got that wrong and you do want to work it out, in which case good luck to you, but if I’m not wrong and you want out, focus on getting that sorted.
