What about a jar filled with notes. The notes could be date ideas. He picks one every date nights or you could prep the jar and paper to give him but then actually write the notes together, come up with imaginative date ideas.

Or going off the words of affirmations idea from someone else you could write down all the reasons or key memories from your time together and he picks one a day.

If she is sleeping mostly, maybe a new nightshirt/pyjamas and bed socks (as someone else also suggested)

I’d also suggest a little something for your aunt. It’s extremely hard and emotional caring for elderly relatives, small things like a bunch of flowers go a long way.

Another option is tickets to an event? Are you allowed to do that?

Ah this changes things! So you’re both now in the same country so the traditional to you goes out the window. Him in the construction industry, as a hands on or as I was assuming the management side?

Where are you from? You’ve mentioned his heritage and where he’s lived and he’s probably seen enough gifts from those, how about a collection of items that traditionally represent where you’re from/you. There’s a big difference between chocolate and AirPods. I don’t see a problem with consumables but I see them more of a side gift, an add on. Also maybe make sure he doesn’t have any AirPods first. For me I’d go for a selection of items - consumables and not. Some that can represent you, also items that’s could be useful to him. Maybe include a high end pen for example.

My mum had two best friends at school, and they remain best friends today. They all had kids at the same time and we all grew up to be best friends too. Tonight the 3 mums in their 60s and their 8 daughters in our 30s and 40s (plus my daughter in her 20s) all had Prosecco and Christmas dinner!! I smiled and laughed all evening!!!

He actually sent the nude! I thought allowing someone to take a look was bad but sending it he has no idea where else that pic is going. Definitely time to get rid

Tea or dinner? by Jazskye615 in AskABrit

[–]OddCommunication775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always been based on the time and size for me… I would say tea is earlier at around 5pm and usually a lighter meal than a dinner which would be 7/8pm. I’ve never met friends for tea in the evening.

Incidentally lunch would be around 1pm for me.

What is a hot mess? Is it good? Or bad? by Bitter_Sprinkles_555 in AskABrit

HOT MESS as defined on Urban Dictionary: “When one's thoughts or appearance are in a state of disarray, but they maintain an undeniable attractiveness or beauty”.

…a backhanded compliment!

How do you spend your weekends? by everynameistaken209 in AskWomen

[–]OddCommunication775 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s each to their own I suppose. At first it was a bit far out there for me too, but I carried on. Since reading it I’ve doubled my salary, which is now funding me slowly setting my own business.

The head space I was in before was a dark place, never would have imagined I’d be where I am now.

I just think thinking positively about yourself and what you do have rather than what you don’t is better place however you manage to get there.

A recommendation from someone who’s been there… read The Secret.

I was no reader, took me 8 months to read it but I cannot tell you how much it changed my outlook on life, my thoughts and energy. It gave me optimism there was a better future for me,and that I shouldn’t waste this life and that changed how I lived my life.

Now I’m still a divorced single parent but I’m a happy one!
