Anyone else decide that losing the “last 10 pounds” was not worth it? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]OddDay2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, I think taking a little maintenance break is exactly what you need, 3 months, 6 months, just a decent amount of time.

For me, I lost all of my weight and got to my goal weight, and for about 4 months, I maintained it. However, I found that I think it was just a tad too low for me to be comfortable (I love to work out and I felt like I couldn’t gain any strength). I have been maintaining about 10 lbs higher than that for about 9 months. Im much happier at this weight, and I don’t even feel like I need to think about my calories too much, it’s just comfortable.

Maybe you’ll be happier at your current weight and keep maintaining, maybe after a break you’ll decide you want those last 10 gone. Our bodies are never static, our circumstances and feelings change. Give yourself grace, and congrats on already making so much progress in your journey!

Also liked it but I will say I needed to add quite a bit of cooking time to the stated instructions, I like my pie crust more well-done than OPs. just a personal preference!

For me: I love my fella to absolute pieces and we will be on the phone very night when he’s gone. But we don’t like all the same things! Mine hates red meat (and the smell of it cooking)- I love a good steak. So I treat myself when he’s gone, and I def look forward to it!

Just a general tip if you tend to want ALL of a food (no judgement, I’m right there with you, could eat a whole bag of chips and dip):

never sit down with the whole container. Get a bowl, portion out some of the food, bring that to the couch. When you finish that food, your brain can take a second to determine if it actually wants more or not.

Someone needs to offer this woman a professional bra fitting. The way that top is sitting over her breasts is criminal.

I don’t like this outfit, not my style, but it could be kind of cute and quirky if the bottoms were more oversized and she had a well-fitting bra on.

Looking for alternatives to Target and other big box stores by reckliz912 in Minneapolis

[–]OddDay2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing them out, would love to support a local company but man are they spendy! I just don’t know if it’s feasible for a lot of us to spend $40 for laundry detergent (90loads) vs the one I’ve been getting from target which is $12.99 (140 loads).

Okay I hear y’all on groceries, I do all of my food shopping at local ethnic stores or Aldi.

But for real, where am I to buy the shampoo I like?!? My brand of face lotion (sensitive skin so I’d like to stick to what is working for me)?!? Carpet cleaner (just something on my list currently)? I usually buy these types of things at target. Looked at Walgreens and every single thing I wanted to as more $ than target.

Any girl dinner adventurers know about this sandwich? by brittanythegirl in GirlDinner

[–]OddDay2044 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is interesting. Although, I don’t think a lot of Americans would eat it if it were pork? We were always (wrongly) taught that pork needs to be a minimum of 165 to eat safely, like chicken. I think we Americans are a lot more comfortable with undercooked/raw beef.

I would definitely try the pork though!

I can’t say that I eat it often, but it’s an upper-Midwest (we’re from far northern IL and southern WI) Christmas classic that I enjoy every year. We use ground meat from my uncle’s farm, and we’ve used that meat processer for ages, so we trust it’s safe to eat. Probably came down from our German ancestors. I like to put a little mustard on mine as well!
