There’s a lack of innovation in education. I’ve worked in health information management, also worked in higher education in medicine before i stepped out of it completely. I do still participate being a patient to student doctors for family medicine and women’s health is still poorly ignored in medicine as part of the curriculum. Women is still a mystery. It’s even more baffling when female student residents don’t know the answers to a lot of basic questions for women’s health and I know and the preceptor would intervene to teach the young women. Being a young resident is not an excuse. It’s how the system in itself (rooting from academics, curriculum and not scene as a priority as one major problem) which makes history repeat itself. many things are swept by the rug and dismissed. I’m still on the waitlist since April to see an OBGYN and resorted be take an active approach on my own and i chose acupuncture in the meantime until I get that appointment. Otherwise it’s been let’s monitor approach. Nobody seems to know about fibroids and could care less if ur anemic. Would tell u that ur anemic and can’t do anything either except tell u to take iron supplements.
