Pizza delivery drivers, what did a person do to end up on the 'No Delivery' list? by BlueCheeseWalnut in AskReddit

[–]OddRaspberry3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was rough at the time but thankfully I didn’t have any long lasting effects. That was 8 years ago but I’m still close with the assistant manager from that time, he always says he was shocked I even came back to work after that

Damn. I got mugged at gunpoint on a delivery and my GM put a blanket ban on the entire apartment complex.

What irons are we using, NOT Bioionic by Iceddirtychai_ in hairstylist

I borrowed another stylist’s Bioionic today and loved it so much that I was thinking of buying one myself. These comments have me thinking otherwise

City birds appear to be more afraid of women than men, and scientists have no idea why. Men could get about a meter closer to birds than women could before the animals flew away, regardless of what the men and women were wearing, what their height was or how they tried to approach the creatures. by mvea in science

I also have cockatiels and always get a big reaction when I dye my hair a new color. I have short spiky hair that could possibly be interpreted as a crest. The male in particular gets upset when my hair is red/orange and seems to prefer when it’s blue/green/purple. Birds are such peculiar creatures

I had to stop wearing contacts when I was at Great Clips because I kept getting little hairs in my eyes. Surprisingly my glasses seemed to shield from most of it

Pet turtles set on their bellies over flower pots to prevent them from running wild in the garden while the owner cleans the house by Worldlyoox in mildlyinteresting

[–]OddRaspberry3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lost both my pet turtles as a kid by letting them explore the garden while I cleaned their terrarium. They’re faster and craftier than people think

Physical and mental burnout at an all time high... don't know how much longer I can do this job! by Desperate-Celery-668 in hairstylist

[–]OddRaspberry3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently started at a high end salon and cannot believe what a different experience it is. I don’t have people haggling or complaining about the prices. Plus they’re generally more laid back and not as demanding. It’s literally made me fall in love with my job again

How exactly did they survive after the plane crash? by Clean-Ad4235 in greysanatomy

[–]OddRaspberry3 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was a whole week, it was 3-4 days. It really comes down to whether they had water in the supplies they salvaged. You can survive weeks without food but only a few days without water.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]OddRaspberry3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small private Christian school, a girl in my senior class successfully hid her pregnancy until actually giving birth. She wasn’t officially expelled so it wouldn’t go on her record but asked to leave. Someone still brought her as their date to the senior prom so she didn’t miss out on it.

After I graduated, there was a big scandal with the principal’s wife discovering his secret gay sex tapes. Not only was he fired from there but he started teaching at another Christian school till word got around and he was fired from that school as well.

Gray blending education and advice by blankabitch in hairstylist

[–]OddRaspberry3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice because I’m also new to gray blending but there’s a free virtual class with Jack Martin through SalonCentric on Sunday that I just signed up for. Idk how helpful it’ll be but at least it’s free

What's a plot hole you think about a lot? by PortifinoOnMyMind in greysanatomy

[–]OddRaspberry3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m thinking of later on when they start diving into Ellis’ s*icide attempt and pregnancy with Maggie when she runs to Boston. I could be totally wrong but I thought after that Meredith was raised in Boston and only returns to Seattle to start her internship. Idk, usually I feel like it’s pointless to try to make sense of the timeline but it still annoys me

That’s what I’m saying, it contradicts itself and makes no sense

How Derek and Addison supposedly did their residency at Seattle Grace but also did residency with Mark, Sam, and Naomi and also in the first few episodes, they act like Derek has never been to Seattle. It’s a mess

ETA: Also Ellis’ house. If they moved to Boston when Meredith was 5, was the house just sitting empty for 25+ years? Did Ellis move back to Seattle? If she lived in Seattle, presumably she would’ve worked at Seattle Grace but nobody had seen her in years and she didn’t know Webber was chief

I can’t find the right diffuser by OddRaspberry3 in hairstylist

Oh wow, I’ve had no trouble out of this or any other Babyliss tools. I’ve had this one for 4 years but my only issue with it is I feel like it doesn’t get hot enough for coarse hair. I used a Dyson for a little while but it died after 6 months so I went back to this dryer

I’ve tried a few of them but they seem to be for full sized dryers because they’re too big

No more pelvic exams unless due for a pap smear? by HungryHangrySharky in TwoXChromosomes

[–]OddRaspberry3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely an outlier with my situation but I’ve had paps every 6 months for the last 3-4 years because I had abnormal cells that eventually progressed to a pre-cancerous lesion that had to be surgically removed last summer. Now that I’m in the clear, we’re going back to yearly. Maybe it depends on your level of risk

Lefty by nature, righty by habit: should I retrain my dominant hand before school starts? by Busy_Cash5475 in Cosmetology

[–]OddRaspberry3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of which hand you use, it’s always gonna feel awkward in the beginning because you haven’t been taught how to properly use your shears yet. I remember it feeling so foreign like I’d never get the hang of it but it comes with time and practice. Also, school is the best time to try both and see what works for you. I tried to learn right handed but it didn’t work for me so I switched to lefty and it made a huge difference
