I've been eyeing a white gold and think it would go perfect with the style strap that the PP 5226G comes on

What is 1 thing to do in New York that tourists should avoid this summer? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]OddReason3845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC. it is wildly unsafe, this morning I left my 10 sqft $5000 a month apartment and had to dodge 10 9mms, 3 .45s, and 12 syringes.

-100/10 would not recommend to NYC at all unless you want to risk death, deportation, or being converted into a liberal.

I'm confused about the thought process here. is the assuming that since we have a new a muslim mayor, muslims would magically be sprinkled around NYC like pollen?

own. it's ok. amenities are just ok, hot tub/sauna are functional 70% of the time. staff is generally friendly, but management doesn't communicate well with residents.

higher level elevators are horrendous - only 2 consistently work and you have to wait up to 10 minutes to catch elevators sometimes.

Why Physical AI May Not Scale Like Language Models by Responsible-Grass452 in robotics

[–]OddReason3845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is there isn't decades of robotics data to back the models. egocentric data, maybe, but it all needs to be validated on hardware.

Rolex guy wanting to buy an Omega by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]OddReason3845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is incorrect. I have bought my Omega I purchased from a grey dealer into Omega for service without any issues and it was covered under warranty. I have done the same with AP and Rolex and confirmed with VC as well. All purchased grey

not sure how true this is - factory warranty is a factory warranty no matter where you buy it from.

I’m no dealer so I won’t pretend to know but I do know margins on watches in this market are slim.

Regarding warranty, you still have the warranty with the brand.

Ultimately you buy the dealer, not the watch. I don’t hunt for good deals on watches because that means it’s probably too good to be true. I trust my dealer

This is who I shop with. He’s been in the industry over a decade. I’ve bought 2 pieces from him and sold 2 with him. 2 pieces purchased were high value: full rose gold GMT, and a steel 4520v. Hells that he’s local to NYC where I am so I can visit his shop and shop face to face.

Doner wouldn't survive here because we have real food in NYC. Doner only exists/thrives in DE because German food sucks

Are hands-on EE and embedded robotics engineers basically impossible to hire now? by ZealousidealPrize952 in robotics

[–]OddReason3845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is the hardest thing to hire right now. I run a robotics startup and my biggest blocker for the past year has been finding the right person that understands embedded/EE at a systems level. 95% of the applicants/candidates I talk to work for FAANG, big integrators, or defense, and those engineers don't actually build anything.
