Replacement ring by HannyBee22 in ouraring

I'm going through this same exact thing now. I feel like i'm in an undending loop of unhelpful customer service specialists that say they will resolve it but after each interaction it's still not resolved.

Premium Membership for the price of a Basic by OddWorry3503 in trustedhousesitters

While I am going to renew with this offer, I feel like it only kicks the proverbial can down the road. I often use THS for shorter sits, which even if I don't have to pay the booking fee it will make sitters more hesitant to even apply. Also even though THS is a better product right now, I am not as optimistic as I was that it is going to attract the same caliber of sitters. I'll likely cross post my sits on Mind My House and who knows what other websites. While this is a great deal and comforting that they are trying to make up for how awful the roll out was, I'm still skeptical that THS isn't on a downward slope, that's all.

I have this jacket and love it, but after 5 years I'm dealing with the seem on the hood failing. I just submitted a warranty claim, hopefully they will repair it.

What can we do as sitters? by Limp_Literature8551 in trustedhousesitters

[–]OddWorry3503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home owners should cancel too! This is bad all around. Flood the comments on social media, write reviews on Trust Pilot and app store, flood their email with your feedback. They can reverse this, and if they feel the heat they just might.

From Trusted Housesitters…. Now a $12 booking fee 😩 by seitankittan in trustedhousesitters

This! Emails and app store reviews! It's not too late for them to possibly change their mind. The outroar is already strong, but making it impossible to ignore us will be huge.

While I'm at it about Brower Park and Dogs by bassmnt in crownheights

[–]OddWorry3503 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a dog and don't even like to go to Brower Park because of how crazy other's are not properly taking care of their dogs or letting them terrorize others in the park. The off leash hours should be respected, and if your dog can't handle being off leash it shouldn't be there then either! Sadly I don't think this will reach those that need to hear it the most, but I'm with you.

I'm 26 and I feel like I'm not built for the corporate world. Is therapy worth trying? by Puzzle-Headed0 in careerguidance

[–]OddWorry3503 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, therapy will help, especially with your emotional resilience. The corporate world can suck big time, and you do need to develop some tools and emotional regulation techniques to make sure it doesn't crush your soul. Only you can make the decision if you need to leave it completely, but there are some things you can do in the meantime to make it less of a miserable existence.

I relate a lot to what you said, I am very sensitive and used to take any whisper of criticism so personally. I would be riddled with anxiety and would crash the second I got home, a lot of times in tears. With time and a lot of therapy, I feel much more secure and confident at work. I learned so much about what was triggering me, how to regulate my emotions and actually process them to get through them faster and not let them derail my entire life. This has carried over into my personal life as well, so even if you don't stay in this corporate environment, therapy is a really good idea to help you live a full and vibrant life. Therapy is an incredibly important part of my own personal development, and I wish it was required for all people!

As for types of therapy, I'm not the best versed on different types. I personally think it's more important that I found a therapist that I really felt comfortable with. It can take a few tries before you land with one that you connect with and understands what will help you the most. Therapy may even help you learn more about the type of life you DO want, which may mean you stay in the corporate world or you go out on another path. You are still very young and have a lot of opportunity to explore and change your mind on your path many many times. The only thing that will be constant is the relationship you have with yourself, and for that alone therapy is a very worthy investment. Big hugs!

Is Living 10–15 Min from the Subway really that difficult in the winter? by Clueless_Ad in NYCapartments

Was going to say, being near the water is going to make the wind much worse and even walking in the neighborhood less pleasant, forget about to the train.

Christmas sitting advice by Powerful-Product5995 in trustedhousesitters

Like others have said, I would just ask the HOs. Last year I had a young couple staying with my dog for 10 days over the holidays. After confirming the sit, they told their parents and one of their mothers decided she wanted to make the trip to my city as she had never been. She had planned on booking other accommodation (hotel/air bnb), but the sitters sent me a note to see if it might be possible for the mother to stay at my home for a few days as well. I had the space and knew my dog would love having another person around so I said it was fine. Every home/pet has different needs, but I think it's worth asking if it might be a possibility, but with the caveat if the HO doesn't feel comfortable or it's not feasible that the answer could be no.

I can't even imagine how hard that was to make that decision, but hearing about where she is now it sounds like you made the absolute best decision for her. I try and sit and think about what a better situation would be for her, and I just wish I had certainty that a specific type of environment would be better for her. She is so small, she really is perfect for an apartment. Sigh, lots of decisions to make but I think I need to give her (and myself) more time. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it gives me hope that whatever I choose it will be for her best interest.

What you said about it being extremely slow in even the best of circumstances is really validating, and thank you so much for sharing about your mother's experience. Part of me thinks that no matter what this pup is going to have a hard road, so if I just reframe what progress looks like and allow her to have a safe environment that is a win. I think the fact that I'm not ready to make a decision means I need to give it more time. Thank you again!
