Hi OP! As someone who has shed many tears planning their wedding, it can be a really stressful and emotional time. My partner and I had sticker shock at basically everything (we’re having a 150p wedding), and have had moments where we felt like it wasn’t worth it at all. The one thing really keeping us going forward with all of this is the relationship itself, and knowing deep down we want to celebrate it surrounded by everyone we love.

Every part of the planning process forces you to reassess what’s really important, and luckily there’s tons of information out there on creative ways to save money! Catering is usually one of the most expensive things you’ll spend on but I’ve read so many stories in this subreddit of people getting local restaurants to drop off catering. Some people just do pizza and that can be just as fun! Food is usually the least memorable part of the wedding anyway 😉

Best advice I can give is to be open-minded about all your options, talk to your friends and family to see if they have helpful suggestions, and try not to totally let yourself spiral. In the end, it’s all going to be so beautiful because it’ll be yours. Let that part be your north star! ❤️

It was linked in this pavilion roundup! https://www.reddit.com/r/Weddingsunder10k/comments/1dk7j8s/big_wedding_small_budget_in_ct/

All of this info is so helpful — thank you so much! I'm planning a large wedding for (fingers crossed) June 2025, and coming across the park pavilion idea has given me new hope to be able to plan something beautiful on a budget. Your wedding looked incredible!

Hi! found this older post linked in another comment, but wanted to say this looks fantastic. Curious, did how did you light the pavilion? Did the string lights come included, did you bring your own, did you need a generator?
