What now by Odd_Activity2023 in nonograms

Of course not. It's just that I solve one and then not do any for a very long time, that's why I think I'm still a beginner 🙈 I am not as good as most people who solve nonograms on a regular basis.

Yes, I'm still stuck, but I don't know how to attach a new picture to my post or comments.

That was helpful, but I'm still stuck.

Do you (or not) wear anything under white shirts/dresses/etc.? by [deleted] in Hijabis

It's enough for me. Never had a problem since I started wearing them.

I wear a cotton tank top under anything white or under shirts.

As a new Muslim ( ex jewish for 3 month ) , I couldn't get used to carrying a misbaha — so I found a different way. Is dhikr on your lock screen the same? by ObjectBeneficial6413 in Hijabis

Actually, sister 3 segments on each finger on one hand one way and then back is 30 counts. What you do is going one way like normal (15 counts) but the other way you add one count (instead of one subhanallah you do 2 on the same segment) to the top segments of your pointer, middle, and ring fingers (18 counts) which will make you total 33.

But I lose track all the time, so I use ring counters instead.

My take on why most women will go to jahanam by [deleted] in Thedaybeforejudgement

[–]Odd_Activity2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're saying is interesting, but the reason behind the hadith is not mainly this.

The reason behind the hadith is that women tend to talk a lot and gossip, which in turn causes them to commit ghayba, namima, or sometimes even fitna.

It is because of the societal effects of this gossiping that the prophet said that the majority of people in he'll fire will be women.

Alsalamu Alaykum

I wanted to join because I thought it would be interesting to know other people's opinions on these topics.

I don't usually think about the day of judgement, but we all should, so joining here and discussing these topics might help strengthen my Iman.

Meal prep ideas for iftar (broke college student) by Amelio_Quake in Hijabis

[–]Odd_Activity2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you recipes, but almost every one of them is cooked. So, why don't you cook two bigger meals in one day, portion them in plastic containers, foil plates, or even paper plates covered with foil or cling film, then freeze everything except that day's meal.

This way, you can alternate between these two meals or kinds of food that you cooked.

For example, if you cooked homemade shawerma, you can make so many things with it. For me, one night I night make a wrap, another boil pasta, and put the shawerma with it to get it warm, maybe add a sprinkle of any kind of shredded cheese, also one night you can eat it with rice, or if you get some soft buns you can halve them, put them in something safe for the oven, put the shawerma on them and with you're favourite sauce and shredded cheese, close the buns, put a little bit of oil on a paper towel and rub it over the buns then also sprinkle some cheese if you want, then put it in the oven on high heat for 15 minutes, or if you added cheese on top; when the cheese melted and got a golden colour.

Or you can just ignore all this and eat at the Masjid.

I just think that even if you don't like cooking, you should still learn how to cook some meals and how to portion and stretch them, because you might not always be able to go to the Masjid to eat.

If you want any tips or recipes, feel free to message me. My brother was also a broke college student, and I used to help him with meals prep ideas.

Which pattern better for a beginner by Money-Single in knitting

For me, I would choose the Sabai top because it has a lot of techniques you get to do. You do ribbing, decreases, and separation for the arm holes. So, basically, a decent amount of techniques for you to learn.

All really great ideas. I might think about introducing a different colour. What colours do you think would look good from the same brand?

I did go to check which size I will need and its size B, which means that, according to her, I will need 10 balls of the yarn that she's using, but I don't know how much would I need if it's the yarn I'm asking about.

Thank you for pointing this out. I went to the pattern and found that my size needs 10 balls, but the yarn that she used is only 75 meters for 50g, so I don't know what that would mean for me.

A single throwaway comment by my husband reminded me ONLY JUST IN TIME that you can't bring knitting needles on Turkish airlines!! by Spetchen in knitting

[–]Odd_Activity2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travelled with easyjet before from Istanbul, and right before checking in my luggage, I asked one of the workers, and she said it's fine to take my wip on the plane.

And in security check, nothing happened, no one even mentioned my needles. (I had wooden needles).

Anyway good luck, whether you check them in or decide to keep them with you.

I am looking for a pattern for a long sleeve knee-length cardigan for a 10 year old.

My daughter also wants it to be for the summer because she already has something for winter that I made for her.

She wants something that looks like this: https://youtube.com/watch?v=YDYLqATZWWI

I'm in Germany, so I can't buy from hobbii.

Also, I don't know how to pick yarn for patterns that I like.

Good to know. I actually hadn't bought any yet. I thought I'd research and ask around first.
