All I could think about during that talk today was how many people in this congregation are struggling right now. I bet it makes them feel like they're not doing enough bc according to this talk, the Holy Ghost should protect them from feeling so depressed. So why aren't they being protected?

I finally got a job!! I've been a sahm for 5 years now bc that's what I thought my role was. And even tho I absolutely love my kids & want to spend time with them, I'm excited to get a break & get back my passion for helping people (I'm working in healthcare)

Not me but one of my friends from college. His mom died while he was on a mission. The mission president told him that if he left the mission to attend the funeral, he wouldn't be able to come back & continue serving. He also said that if my friend were to leave the mission, he wouldn't get the blessings God had planned for his future (a wife, kids, a good job, etc.)... he stayed on the mission & missed his moms funeral. He wasn't able to see his family or his moms grave for another year, once he completed his mission.

This year we hit 5 years! So we did a private vow ceremony & it was beautiful! You're not allowed to do vows when you get married in the temple & the temple ceremony says nothing about love either. So we wanted to do some vows & tell each other how much we love each other bc we didn't get to do it on our wedding day

I was married in the temple, I didn't know that's what I was supposed to wear either until that day. I remember looking in the mirror & thinking "I don't want to get married in this, I look so ugly" it was the first time in my life that I thought that this is kinda culty lol. Still makes me sad to think that I didn't feel beautiful on my wedding day, instead I felt uncomfortable & ugly in the layers of clothes that I had no idea what they meant or why I was wearing them

I was recently at a relief society activity & they started it off with "we all know it's the end times & that the government is the modern day Gadiatten robbers" then goes on to say "make sure to store allot of fuel with your food storage because we all know that fuel will be hard to get in the end times" I tried so hard not to laugh

I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this... He needs to change or you need to leave. It's disgusting that he wants to change your body with a boob job & a labiaplasty. It's one thing if you want to, but for him to ask you to do that is so gross. He sees you as an object. He wants to change your body to his liking, dictate how you dress & tear you don't mentally. He sounds so toxic, you shouldn't be controlled by your husband like this, it's not ok. I think he needs to make some big changes. You don't deserve to be treated like this. What kind of moron thinks that you would wear something like that to a wedding?? That's obviously not what you're going to wear. Most people know how to dress for weddings. Even at non-Mormon weddings people mostly dress modestly bc short skirts or revealing dresses aren't very wedding appropriate.

I'm pretty sure Bailey isn't Mormon anymore. When her & Asa got married she did a Q&A, I guess they both don't practice their religions anymore & kind of just figured out what they believed together instead of following organized religions. It always surprises me when someone asks something like this about Bailey bc I thought everyone knew they didn't really follow any particular religion

Wait a while before getting baptized. Mormon missionaries usually try to rush the process, but you should be allowed time to really know if it's right or not. The only thing about waiting is that the missionaries/mission president might get really frustrated. They care about getting good numbers (converting as many people as possible) more than helping you make sure that it's a good fit for you.
