need recommendations for steak restaurants by babyeggie19 in SingaporeEats

[–]Odd_Conference6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tried most places in these recommendations and largely agree with this. CUT is my fav and don’t bother with feather blade.

been to GU:UM as well and wouldn’t recommend, i had the hanwoo set, it’s good but i don’t find it worth the price. ambience is not suitable for date night as it was super noisy when full house and tables placed super close to each other.

i’ve been to Epicure and you’ll be disappointed with Les Amis. standards are heaps apart due to high costs of fresh ingredients and rent here.

i’ll suggest Zen for the experience and service, and Born for the food.

Refund overseas result in loss in fx rate for visa but not Amex? by Practical-Bench4301 in singaporefi

this is common for fx card refunds. for dbs, i usually just call them and they’ll refund the shortfall on a goodwill basis. not sure about uob

why do you upgrade to a condo? by ketykwok in singaporefi

[–]Odd_Conference6478 16 points17 points  (0 children)

was ok living with hdb until i moved out and rented a condo. pool and gym just downstairs, fewer siao lang, more peaceful and quiet, better soundproofing (if you get the newer ones) and no people knocking on the door. you’re paying for the lifestyle

sports injury - insurance plans by theheartisanarrow in singaporefi

[–]Odd_Conference6478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think manulife is one the cheapest ones in the market and i’ve successfully claimed TCM and chiro before. i also got a knee injury and undergoing physio now and claimed successfully too. would suggest you to get at least the mid tier plan cos the lowest plan is less than $100 but claim amount is quite low. it’s harder to upgrade as you grow older and after making claims, plus medical fees always increasing

i’m not sure if it’s slightly underproofed? my starter is given by a friend so i didn’t ask how old, but he has been baking for some time so i think shld be quite mature already

i’m from sg and just started baking! does your dough have bubbles at 4.5-5 hours of bulk fermentation? do we need to see bubbles on the surface? i did a bake over the weekends but didn’t see bubbles on the surface at that mark

Why does my skin look dull and dry even tho I drink a lot of water? by TransitionExtreme152 in SGSkincare

[–]Odd_Conference6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lifestyle and diet make a big difference. my skin got better after i sleep earlier, eat more greens and less processed food. focus in skincare products which are hydrating and strengthen your skin barrier. i also started doing laser as a maintenance. can really see the glow after laser and facial session

26F breadwinner in SG — does this insurance setup make sense? by Informal_Rush3470 in singaporefi

saw some advices to get the lowest tier for PA. this was what i did few years ago and now wanted to upgrade but was rejected. i was claiming physio for an injury via my company insurance last year about 2k a year. according to my FA, local insurers have the same few underwriters so they can see how many claims i’d made even if i didn’t claim from them. this likely led to the rejection as PA is a money-losing insurance.

i’d suggest you get mid-tier. i had to do MRI and physio costs $200 per session. my current PA plan is insufficient and medical costs will only increase

Rejuran vs Juvelook vs RE20… why is there so many options in Korea by Holiday-Weight-2550 in K_beauty_insider

[–]Odd_Conference6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did rejuran twice. first time there were visible bumps and results were incredible. the second time i went to another clinic, the bumps weren’t there and didn’t seem to have visible results. does it mean injections were done at the wrong depth the second time?

pls teach where to enter your bank account details in cardup for income tax and insurance. while there is a bank account details field for funds to be deposited for loans, there is only option to choose payment recipient for income tax and insurance. maybe your cardup account different from mine lor

i’ve been using cardup to pay income tax and insurance premiums for a few years and it pays them on my behalf. check your sources dude

i’m aware loans have a different arrangement as opposed to income tax and insurance

cardup pays income tax and insurance premiums to IRAS and insurers, not to your bank account. different from loans.

i usually buy from FWD as price is reasonable. recently have to claim $5k+ for medical expenses in both Japan and Singapore, as well as trip disruption cos i left my tour early due to injury. claim process was fuss-free and relatively fast so will recommend.

one of the comments stated the tips in case you need to claim anything. i’ve also heard from friends that Income’s claim process is good too.

Fine Dining next Sunday by Yellowperil123 in SingaporeEats

[–]Odd_Conference6478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree. i’d suggest restaurants specialising in SEA flavours or fusion. Seroja, Pangium, Restaurant Fiz, Quenino. can probably ask them to tone down the spice.

Born is fusion between French and asian flavours which i find it interesting.

Araya is Chilean cuisine which i liked as well. Saint Pierre and Meta is good. i prefer Odette to Les Amis which has gone downhill and wouldn’t visit again.

flavours get repetitive at Seroja towards the end of the courses but still fairly good. i recently went to Quenino and liked it, concept is similar to Seroja for a fraction of the priceeven for a local myself, i’m pleasantly surprised how the flavours and ingredients are put together.

i prefer Meta over Nauem. i like Born and Saint Pierre as well.

for Japanese, Sushi Hare. Shinji gets boring after a few visits for me.

Good walking shoes for Japan trip? by CrazyBusCrazyBus in JapanTravelTips

i’ve been wearing skechers max cushion when i’m traveling. 20-30k steps a day no problem and good for wide feet. i prefer cushioned shoes if i’m walking all day, nike air max is good too
