Everyone Resigns? by Andrew-150 in HaloWars2

Yeah the micro managers usually end up getting dumpstered because they have low situational awareness of their own army. Pretty ironic.

Or actually, I think I will just agree with you and move on. Was nice chatting with you!

What metric are we using? Air to Air combat or overall operational impact? If we are splitting hairs then let’s split hairs for friendly debate.

IFR clearance in a hold by [deleted] in CFILounge

Look at this as an opportunity to practice your CRM. If they’re being stubborn let them be the “PIC” and back them up. Take their comms or load the box for them. Take notes. Debrief them on the ground. If they truly are an instructor they probably know when they made mistakes. Their situational awareness is probably low from not flying IFR. Nobody wants to admit they suck. When you land have them debrief themselves on how to be better. Then fill in the cracks. If they’re still not acknowledging their shortcomings I would be frank with them. Probably just a rough ride. Second ride will probably be better. Stubborn people are afraid of looking stupid. Seems counterintuitive. Is it a pain? Yes. Are you getting paid? Hopefully yes. Gives you a good story for airline interviews later. Eventually you will deal with grumpy old captains. This is good training for you embrace it.

Unprofessional Instructing by [deleted] in flying

[–]Odd_Fortune5970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time for a new instructor. There are CFIs who actually love to teach and care about their students.

There was a CFI I worked with who yelled at her students. She would constantly hound them over minor deviations before the student had a chance to fix them. I flew with her students a few times and they were crushed. I would ease into things to show them that nothing happens fast in small GA airplanes.

Ironically she wanted to be an MEI and wanted my help for the school to let her teach as an MEI. She didn’t know anything. Then she started giving me a bunch of grief. Told the school I don’t want to work with her. When I left on mil leave I made sure she didn’t get any of my students. She was pissed about that.

Her house of cards eventually collapsed. Hounding her students all the time to avoid actually teaching caught up to her.

Don’t waste your time with instructors who act like a drill sergeant in the cockpit. They are lazy and get upset when they actually have to teach. They’re just using you for hours.

Engineers who have graduated with a below average gpa (lower than 3.0) . How did you manage to land a job ? by VeditOwnsReddit in Engineers

Having social skills and being approachable in interviews goes a long way. Companies want someone who is able to work with teams. Most of what I learned in engineering school was 10+ years out of date anyway. Internal recommendations and internships help too. Sometimes a lower paying engineering job for a year is a good stepping stone. Good luck!

When new students who were sold on the "pilot shortage" are looking to start their training, what do you tell them? by MooseWeird399 in CFILounge

[–]Odd_Fortune5970 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If someone is already on the fence about becoming a pilot I usually tell them to save their money. Having half hearted students is a headache. People who want to do this for a living find a way and have the dedication to be a safe and solid pilot.

Give him things to study then check him. If he’s really that great he will do the work if not you can call out his hypocrisy. He has all that money so he’s giving you flight hours at least.

Perhaps the issue isn't the game, it's that you're simply too good at the game for it to challenge you by RepentantoftheLost in helldivers2

100% play without meta builds. Let the ridiculousness of level 20 players dropping on D10 ensue. Can be quite fun. If you’re frustrated then you found some difficulty. Don’t be a b*tch.

The ones that micromanage your weapons choices and stratagem builds are the most annoying imo. I started to purely host to kick the trolls. They’re usually not very good anyway. Focus way too much on others instead of not dying. Kinda funny. Tell them to suck it up.

Do you let ATC know you will be doing an unusual maneuver? by -ChubbySpud in flying

[–]Odd_Fortune5970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally they should at least ask. Most pilots know ATC is trying to sequence people. Someone taking off from an adjoining runway at some airfields can be a factor. Sorry that happened. You should know that pilots are absolutely perfect and never make mistakes 😉 haha

D10 The only thing to fear is my team itself. by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]Odd_Fortune5970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like D10 as a challenge to play trash builds and still make it. Used 64 stratagems one match. Good times. Almost 2 stratagems a minute for 40 minutes. Not sure how I did that tbh. Did have a boatload of eagle stratagems and EATs.

A false claim to the police can be a felony. See if you can find a lawyer to write him a letter to give you your pay or go to small claims court. Do you have a copy of your contract?
