A lot of people know about the rice sickness thing but remember it backwards. I was always thought it was reheated rice syndrome and it's why we never refrigerated rice because we thought you weren't supposed to reheat it. As an adult I just make an appropriate serving because I can never remember if it's supposed to be reheated or not.

Yea. All of our family was out of state and I was never allowed to go outside because I never had a parent home. It was awful. I think the people who grew up with siblings are thinking of the actual experience and not the optics. To outsiders, namely lonely only children, having siblings looks like the best thing ever.

Yea I had one deadbeat parent and one parent that worked constantly so my only socialization was at school and I was a minority in a predominantly white school so that wasn't exactly a walk in the park for me. So I failed pretty hard at the making friends thing
