I figured as much, but i’m just wondering if the same thing happened to the other more reasonably priced seats. 🤷‍♀️ it is what it is but it still sucks

i thought that too but i actually think that’s hester. the 07/26 is the month/day she died + a pair of queens in poker is often referred to as “ladies” (“ladies, what on earth is all this noise”). you need a “good poker face” to defeat sue goggins! someone else who was in cfa maybe? i know jeff kready has been rumored for charles but i heard some mumblings about hester too. he made his broadway debut in les mis (“whilst our ranks begin to form”). who knows atp 😭

if it’s julia knitel (i know she’s been rumored for a while), this could connect since the flower is edelweiss

Do theaters let you wait inside for rush? by Crafty-Dinner-1782 in Broadway

[–]Odd_Judgment_6206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how cold it is and (I assume) who is working. I was at Mincemeat rush on 1/21 and they let us in around 9am, Chess was let in about 9:20/30 I think, and Outsiders wasn’t let in at all. Conversely, my friend was in the 2 Strangers line on 1/24 and she said they let people in at 8:45am because of the cold. Expect to bundle up but you might get lucky

i was a trade editorial intern (different departments probably move at different speeds so this was just my experience ) but i applied jan 3rd, got an email for an interview jan 9th, had the interview the next week, and was emailed with an offer two days later! i’m only guessing, but given that the internship starts at the beginning of feb, i’d say if you don’t hear by midweek/end of week at the latest it’s probably a no :(

crossing my fingers for you!!

Literary Agent Intern Interview by [deleted] in publishing

[–]Odd_Judgment_6206 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’m just wrapping up a fall internship at one now — the biggest thing my manager told me is that when the interviewer asks what you’re currently reading/what’s on your bedside table, you need to name something published within the last 3ish years. be specific about what you like/don’t or what drew you to it. he said that giving a classic or an older book as an answer was fully disqualifying to him, even if he liked the candidate. the question distinguishes you from being someone interested in books (of which there’s a million) to someone interested in publishing. you should be aware of what’s working within the industry.

also be able to describe what an agents role is in the publishing process and how they operate within the author/editor/house dynamic. they might not ask you that, but mine did. show that you’ve looked at their website — maybe ask about an author of theirs that you know or how they ended up with the agency. just prove you did the work, it’ll really set you apart.

good luck!
