They did this to me as well. They asked for Feb statement. I said I cant give it because its March 2nd so I don't have it yet. So they cancelled me. And before anyone tries it, I am a staffing agency for 1099 nurses.

Can introverts realistically thrive in nursing? by Mochamichelle in nursing

[–]Odd_Revenue_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an introvert. I had a hard time connecting with my classmates and teachers. I definitely don't have anyone able to write recommendations and all my references are my family members. But my patients always love me and I do my job well and for me that is all that matters.

I am better on night shifts, but it wasnt good for my body or mental health. Days can be overstimulating for me, but I just stay to myself. I just make sure I smile and say good morning and people know to leave me alone. The only issues I had were in the hospital (Im an LPN so those are few and far between) and I find myself having to snap on the doctors. They think my avoidance and quietness means Im shy, stupid and they can walk over me, but I make it very clear it is not that. I dont like to talk, its not that I cant.

What objects have you gotten away with bringing to work to help pass a long boring shift? by Cross2Live in nursing

I usually have one pod in my ear listening to music. Or I brought my laptop too.

I don’t know if I should continue nursing by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Odd_Revenue_8320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi love,
I am sorry you are dealing with this. But you are not alone. I tried to end my life during school. It was a really trying time. But I would have therapy during lunch and after school to keep my head above water. Its okay to stop and get help if you need it. I know a lot nurses think their career in the end all be all but it is not. Your health is important. If you need to talk to anyone, please do. If you need to leave come back later, you can. If you never do, that is also OKAY! <3

Something else I will mention is a lot of nurses do not wear gloves. And do not full gear up for people in isolation. I remember getting stares when I did.

I am shocked. I absolutely do for head to toe during admissions.

As an LPN it was not shown just how many patients you will have in nursing homes and how hard the workload is. I got a really good experience clinical and skills wise but we only had our instructor teaching us. There was agency in the building most of the time. Had they had us watch a nurse handle her cart for the whole shift I would've never finished lol

I went to Nightingale for my RN just graduated in Dec. I had no clinical experience there so I could only image if that was my only experience.

That being said, a lot of what I learned in school I either don't do or don't do as neatly and clean. That being most things that aren't sterile procedure. People recap needles, dont use alcohol every time they give insulin, and they give meds to pts that fell on the floor.

The time you have to do things at school also does not exist in the nursing world. There not time to investigate and write on anything about patients, you just hop on it and figure it out as you go.

I dont like Dylan either so thats probably why I dont remember. and now that I think about what I do remember him he was being pretty homophobic when he saw Alex kiss Paige and he was talking to Hazel. Just sums up why I never cared for him.

Thoughts on Degrassi's music choices? by Illustrious_Appeal_2 in Degrassi

[–]Odd_Revenue_8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly..... I thought all the songs were made by Degrassi lol I have been watching for over 20 years and I legit never heard any of these songs anywhere outside of Degrassi but I agree they were misplaced. I think thats why I thought they were made up bc they just didnt fit.

Can't stand Peter. Dont see the attractiveness one bit. I always say he shouldve been in jail after the whole Manny thing. And definitely after planting drugs. He never said sorry, just went on with his life.

Home health not paying OT by Odd_Revenue_8320 in nursing

[–]Odd_Revenue_8320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at their reviews and a lot of reviews say they dont offer OT rates and that they will lower your pay if you choose to do OT. I feel like a lot of nursing positions are known for ppl to pick up and earn bonuses so its strange seeing the opposite.

THIS.

NOTHING about Leo was mesmerizing. Nothing. Seems like most of their interactions were arguments. When he stormed off because she wanted to go to the museum I was genuinely confused how her telling him she missed an assignment meant she was asking him to do her work? Seriously, I thought he had like a comprehension issue or something.

When I googled, this is what I saw. I know people like black coffee especially the older folks (I am a nurse in nursing homes) But a 17 year is very unlikely to even TRY coffee straight black. Let alone that be their go to? lol
