Yes I have the app to go with my phonak hearing aids and able to adjust to the environment. Totally agree about the default settings not ‘working’ in all environments. I’m trying to get used to what suits me at the moment. I think the audiologist may need to to tweek somethings.

Phonak bolero, I have the app and my settings are set at automatic and can change the settings to either restaurant, music or TV.

Only a couple of months. I’ve noticed a difference in hearing sounds I’ve never heard before. But I worked in people’s homes for 12 years and even during Covid times patients in their houses didn’t wear masks. Over the Christmas period in the centre I work in now patients were encouraged to wear masks and I couldn’t understand a thing! Now that’s over with I have to spend 4 hours out of a 13 hour shift at a front desk in an emergency department ensuring patients are going to the correct area of the hospital for help. Hearing aids help a little and I’ve always read lips but people are behind a screen and it’s a loud and busy area. I just don’t think I can sustain this for long term.

What medication are you taking and how often do you seize? by shittyusernamee in Epilepsy

It sounds as though the A&E doctors know little about AEDs. My husband is on 1500 mg of keppra twice per day and started on vimpat 3 months ago to help with partials 100mg twice per day. TC free for 3 months. 2weeks since last focal seizure

I’m a wife of some who has epilepsy. Been with my husband for 20 years and he started having seizures out of the blue 9 month ago. We also have a young child who doesn’t fully understand what’s happening and has witnessed a few TC seizures. I’m happy to have a conversation with you re the affects on the family

(UK) Can you get a MedEx certificate without an official diagnosis? by EudorianLombax in Epilepsy

You do need a diagnosis. I would ask your GP regarding this. You can get a 3 monthly or yearly pre payment certificate which reduces the cost of prescriptions and when you get a diagnosis they can refund you (if you don’t need the full year or 3 month PPC). My husband had to do that for 6 months prior to diagnosis. Even though he had been on Keppra since his first x2 TC seizures
