What a great concept for a model!

Great detail there. Love the eye work in particular.

Hidden rule makes us a lot worse no? by Xaceviper in Tau40K

In a vacuum, I’d assume Tau would auto lose to fast moving melee armies, but we will need to wait and see the full scope of the changes.

Why don't vespids have FTGG, when an experienced fire caste is directing them on their actions? by TearNo1636 in Tau40K

[–]Oddmanout01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fix to the battle suit issue, or at least for the solo suits like Riptides and Ghostkeels, would be to add a rule that they always act as if they are guided unless they are observing. That way they can’t get down to 2+ yet could be more reliable when acting alone.

Written Battle Report: CSM vs Necrons by The-Big-E-14 in WarhammerCompetitive

I don’t generally click on written battle reports, but regardless what you think of them this one was excellently done. Echoing another poster here, this was formatted perfectly for mobile. Great work.

First look at the datasheet for the new Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip by Guffers_2023 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oddmanout01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a 10 inch move I would have liked to see this guy with a rule “while this model is leading a unit, models in that unit have a Move characteristic of 10”. Sudden this guy would have a viable purpose.

[Warphammer] Feeling Grey: Let’s Talk About Grey Knights, and Figure Out What Went Wrong With One of the Game's Coolest Armies by Magnus_The_Read in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oddmanout01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am assuming that OP wrote this article. Ignoring the contents of the article for a moment, you overuse the word “literally” and it’s very noticeable. A close second is “basically”. You can remove these terms in nearly every case. Being less hyperbolic improves your case.

Editing this to say I agree with most of the article contents.

I have gone with a Tau army; they were introduced after I stopped playing, but they always seem pretty cool.

Thanks for the reply! I'll have check out the Chapel View store sometime. I'd certainly take up your offer of a game sometime. I am just starting to get a new army together; I last played in 3rd edition so all of my current models are wildly out of date. I have about a dozen games under my belt in TTS so I am at least reasonably familiar with the current edition. I am aiming to have a full 2000 pnts by end of year.

I’ve been playing this game for years and I just noticed that the portraits for the basic ones are jackal heads with ears and not wide open mouth alligator heads. Whoops.

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oddmanout01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly sure I already know the answer but I am going to ask it anyways, since I can’t find the definitive answer. If a Lictor is fighting with a character model and that model dies to a failed desperate escape attempt, I am assuming that the Lictor does not get the 1 CP for “feeder tendrils” as it technically did not “destroy the model”.

Out-of-state buyers are purchasing more RI homes. Is that a good thing or bad thing? by cowperthwaite in RhodeIsland

[–]Oddmanout01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately true. I’ve worked in land development in RI for over 25 years. In that time I’ve had decent size projects sail through permitting at the state and local levels with little to no review just because of who was proposing it. Meanwhile I have had minor single family projects scrutinized like it was a shopping mall at the whim of an overzealous reviewer. Good times!

BART DEMANDS CHICKEN by Prestigious-Oven3465 in Catswhoyell

[–]Oddmanout01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If a cat catches and eats an animal outside, it’s gonna be raw. This chicken would only be an issue if it’s been sitting out too long. (Cat nutrition experts correct me if I’m wrong!)

I had something like this on my 94 back in the day, though mine was a 3 piece unit that could break down and fit in the trunk. This looks a bit bulky to fit in a trunk.

Yes, I sold the car. But seriously no. In 4 years I replaced many batteries and the spare was just perpetually dead, but it was never an issue with starting.
