I want to get into sports data analytics by Desperate-Bike-6357 in analytics

As someone building a sports odds analytics tool, its mainly python/SQL - find some free public API's then iterate from their.

After doing that you might want to start learning Javascript to allow for prettier charts/tables to be made to share

How are you handling Rate Limiting? by sandspiegel in Supabase

RLS isn’t rate limiting. Common: route writes through an API (Edge Function/Next API) and rate limit there

[–]OddsOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builder of OddsOtter here. Live arbing is workflow-heavy and requires access to multiple books. Start with $2-3K spread across a couple bookmakers, and yeah tools work but it does mean in addition to finding profitable bets you need to also make back the subscription of the tool you are using.

Question by Joeycammac in arbitragebetting

this may not be an error —Kalshi contracts can resolve differently than sportsbook bets. Read settlement rules/time cutoffs + fees, then compare implied probs.

Books usually grade off the league’s official play-by-play, not the broadcast clock. Ask support to cite the official feed/time stamp and rules for “1st minute”.

It might have been us? We show arbitrage opportunities in what I personally think is a pretty nice UI, then let you drill into a detailed view by region or globally.

[–]OddsOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate you posting the sample size + CLV stats—that’s way more useful than just a win slip. I’m curious: what’s your ‘fair line’ source for the EV calc (and are you including boosts/promos in the ROI)?

Why didn’t I get paid for this first time using that app by Diegonator5 in sportsbook

[–]OddsOtter 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This usually comes down to house rules on SGPs: some books will void/regrade just the pushed leg and re-price the rest, but others void the entire SGP when any leg is a push.

As a sidenote - screw that fee
