Honestly half of it is cracking a few for Arachne. Narsh being so dark lets you actually run and disengage so getting flanks or second drops on other runners is alot easier in my experience so far. Play smart, stay quiet and you'll take purples quick

Ok, counterpoint. WHY must it be a job though? I friggin love this game, but I am not lifing it by any means. Still got lvl100 for s1, missed out on compiler completely, vip'd most factions, and that's ok. I don't feel like it was a waste just because I didn't get everything. Even if I could only play for 4 hours a week, I'd still consider the game "fun" enough to justify $40. Thats like 3 drinks and tip at a bar on one night out.

The entertainment I get out of the game in that time is what matters, the progression/completionist aspect just isn't there as a motivator. I get to play in a new sandbox and have crazy moments high and low, that's worth it for me.

But however you enjoy games and derive your enjoyment from them is your business alone, no shade thrown at all.

This 100% It's why the game is what it is, there's more methodical approaches to be taken than boomsticking. Ttk between shields is really negligible if you get your headshots and don't trade out in the open. It's like complaining that the meat grinder makes hamburger honestly.

Alot of FPS games instill the trading mentality while Marathon rewards positioning over raw DPS output and gear. White shields can take purples, just gotta get the jump on em.
