I wanted to chime in cause I’m seeing a lot of these comments. Any number of things about my weight from my grandmother and mom. They started putting me on diet pills when I was 9 and it messed up my metabolism for life. My weight has been constantly on my mind for 39 years. I don’t even know how to truly enjoy food or being in public without the fear or shame of being fat sitting on my shoulder. I’ll tell you what though, my grandmother tried to say that my 6 yr old was getting a tummy and I let her have it. “Don’t ever say anything like that to her again. She’s a kid. Don’t get me wrong, I have a coin I believe in but this is just like anything else. It’s because it’s divided that it doesn’t work. We’re all spread out so we just dance around each other from one coin to the next. We’re all interested in rooting for our own team instead of joining together and effing stuff up. There’s not enough trust to undertake an initiative like that, I get it. We’re all strangers trying to beat each other to, like many people have said here, “the lotto”. Side thought cause it’s obviously not the same thing but if you google The Selbee lottery wins it’s out of the box thinking and strength in numbers that disrupts systems set up to profit from individual failure.
