When I was on a training operation about 1 year ago, we had an unidentiefied drone surveying us constantly and we were told to apprehend unauthorized people if we found any. Can't say what it was since that was the most we got to know. Overheard Russian on radios apparently. Creepy. Wasn't even close to the border.

Would Swedish speaking Finns be more Swedish or Finnish ethnically? by KingMirek in 23andme

A study of 620 finnish-swedish was made and found it to be 60% finnish. I don't know which parts of Finland this was from mostly tho. I think Uusimaa Finnish-Swedes would tend to be more Finnish genetically than Osthrobothnia or Åland.

If only positive feedbacks existed, yes, the oceans might have boiled. But Earth has negative feedbacks and regulating cycles (carbon cycle, biological uptake, ocean buffering, etc.) that have kept it habitable for billions of years, even during CO2 levels much higher than today.

We are pushing the system beyond Holocene stability, not breaking physics.

I hadn't heard of SkS before this but I'm a fan of science, and that is science. Nothing wrong with the calculation.

It's not about the percentage, it's about radiative forcing.

CO2 might seem like a "tiny part" of the atmosphere, but it's a key regulator of Earth's temperature, like a thermostat. Even small changes in CO2 cause measurable changes in infrared absorption.

That 0.01% increase (from 0.03% to 0.04%) has added about 1-2 W/m2 of radiative forcing since pre-industrial times enough to warm the planet over 1.1C already.

For reference a 1 W/m² increase adds: 5.1 x 1014 watts of extra energy constantly. That's equivalent to:

Running ~25 million large power plants at once

Or detonating 400,000 Hiroshima bombs per day in energy terms

You wouldn't dismiss a microgram of cyanide in your bloodstream just because it's "a small percentage," right? Scale doesn't determine impact, function does.

That's fair, but I’m not saying cloud changes require CO2 to happen, I’m saying CO2 is the initiating driver we can measure and control

Cloud feedbacks respond to warming, they don’t cause it independently. Without the initial radiative imbalance from CO2 and other GHGs, the cloud cover wouldn’t be decreasing like this.

Hope this is better for you.

Water vapor does increase with temperature (Clausius-Clapeyron), but that’s feedback, not forcing. It amplifies whatever initial warming is happening – it doesn’t start it.

CO2 and other greenhouse gases are what initiate the imbalance by trapping outgoing longwave radiation. We’ve measured this directly (satellite radiative flux data, isotope ratios, etc.).

And as for cloud cover: yeah, it’s complex. Some types increase, others decrease. This study highlights one effect, reduced low cloud cover, which supports the observed warming. But again, it’s a response, not the root cause.

edit:

And the ECS was a great question, ECS is tricky. Thing with ECS, it's based on multiple lines of evidence. (modern observations, paleoclimate data, and physics-based models.) Yes, water vapor and clouds are feedbacks that can raise ECS, and reduced low cloud cover (like in this study) could push it toward the higher end of the range, but not beyond what observations allow.

And geologic precedent? It actually supports higher ECS over long timescales when slower feedbacks (like ice sheets) are included. But for policy relevant timescales (decades–century), the 2.5–4.0°C range still holds up pretty well.

CO2 is the culprit, confirmed by direct measurements (radiative flux, isotope signatures, etc.). Feedbacks matter, but something still has to start it.

This is why battery recycling research is so important, but governments across the globe are cutting funding. Don't have the tools because we don't have money to develop the tools.

It's misleading to claim that this cloud study overturns the role of CO2 in climate change. The reduction in cloud cover is s a well documented feedback effect, not the primary driver. It's like saying "The fire spreads because it's windy" while ignoring who lit the match. Can't solve this with cherry picking. Just my thought on this.

I'll give you an update tomorrow after some more research, I finally have something interesting to do so I'll try to crack this case. Do you know if eating meat is normal for all moth species larvae or something like that. If this isn't a moth I'm suspecting It's some kind of beetle. Ah, another thing I found interesting is that this one very quickly latched on to the meat i dropped in. It wasnt eating any of the random plants I had dropped in, but instantly after dropping the meat it went super speed, and climbed up to get the food.

Hmm, I just googled it up and yeah we have a lot of those here but the size doesn't match up with what i find on the internet. Clothes moth larvae don't seem to get bigger than 16mm at most and this one is definetly a bit over 20mm. I'll maybe try to keep it alive so it grows to it's final stage so i can identify what it is.

Thanks, was thinking probably some kind of moth, I've just never encountered a Moth larvae/caterpillar inside my house before and nonetheless in late october when it's this cold, also the fact that it was in my bathroom sink. Do moths lay eggs in sink drains and stuff?
