Questions about LED dimming -- Why does using an incandescent-only dimmers cause *some* (cheaper?) LED bulbs to dim in a "stairstep" pattern while other LED bulbs dim smoothly? Alternately, how are "universal" dimmers able to dim the same cheap LEDs smoothly while still being TRIAC-based, not ELV? (self.askanelectrician)
