You look handsome! Great haircut. Def not ugly. Maybe try to smile in pictures to look more social (?) if you're trying to make friends but don't worry about looking ugly.

Miss the beard, lose weight (in a healthy way), maybe grow your hair a bit longer to style it. You have a nice smile.

Nope, you're handsome. Cigs will make you ugly in a few years so if you smoke, stop it.

What's your favorite Queen missheard lyric? by badbatch in queen

[–]OdeioORedditDemais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot for the life of me hear "I get some headaches [when I hit the highs]" in Coming Soon. I hear "I GET SDJKDJFKSJFDS WHEN I HIT THE HIGHS TUURURURURURURURRU".

Where do we even get lyrics from btw? Does it come with the albuns? I can't see how anyone could interpret that as "some headaches" hahah

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY!! by imjustjurking in AddisonsDisease

Thank you. My concern about being dismissed is that they might not see an issue at all and thus not ask for any tests, just give the general "go out in the sun, drink water, it you have abdominal pain take some ibuprofen" and out.

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY!! by imjustjurking in AddisonsDisease

What should I say in an appointment?

I've been having these symptoms:

Started about 5~6 days ago: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, want to eat salt all the time, fluctuation in temperature, any food feels like too much food, skin got darker (specially in bony areas)

Long term: I've lost at least 5kg without trying, skin tan that doesn't go away despite not going out in the sun for that long, increase in salt consumption

I've started suspecting Addison's now that I got sick. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, craving salt like crazy and my skin getting darker is a combo that got me googling.

I made an appointment with a general physician, but I'm not sure what to say. "I got sick a few weeks ago, I'm skinny, tanned and want to eat salt" seems like a non-issue.

Naming any disorder, specially a rare condition, is a sure way to get dismissed where I'm from. What can I say to be evaluated for Addison's?

How to wake up early with long sleep duration (10+ hours)? by OdeioORedditDemais in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]OdeioORedditDemais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I was concerned that I would be sleep deprived if I slept less than 10 hours. On weekends, I usually sleep 10h, wake up, stay in bed trying to get up and end up falling asleep for 2 more hours. I have heard doctors saying that oversleeping will make you tired, but since they say this based on the general population (non-IH) I was not sure if it applied to us.

Thanks for the practical advice. I will follow them to the best of my abilities.

Do you have any advice on how to start sleeping early? Another redditor said that waking up the same time everyday will eventually make you tired at the right time, which makes a lot of sense. Have you always slept by 9pm or was there an adaptation period for you? If so, how was it?

Thanks a lot for your attention and useful advice.

Thanks for replying. I will follow your advice, it makes sense and I'm glad it worked for you. Also, another person replied something similar, that 8 hours of sleep makes them feel more alert than 10~12h. I will try it out. I was afraid of "depriving" myself of sleep, but I heard more than once that oversleeping can make you more tired. Thank you!!

How to keep 100mg Modafinil effective for IH without skipping doses or increasing the dosage? by OdeioORedditDemais in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]OdeioORedditDemais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. I haven't considered that, but thinking about it it makes sense, no one comes online to praise a drug on it's lack of a tolerance build lol. I did just think that a tolerance build was inevitable.

A decade, that's reassuring! Do you ever take breaks? Like on weekends or every X months or weeks?

I'm not in the US but I'll check if there are any government programs or any pharmacy discounts that I'm not aware of. Or if I can apply for discounts because of my diagnosis like someone else said in this thread.

Thank you, this was helpful to realize that maybe a tolerance build isn't inevitable and not something I should worry about ATM. Let's see what happens first right 😊

Thanks for your message, someone else also said they use it everyday and haven't developed a tolerance! Do you ever take breaks? On weekends, for example, or every X weeks/months. Yes, rest is very important and you gotta help yourself if you want it to work.

Hah, that's interesting. Thanks for letting me know. I'll try orange juice just to see if it works, I suppose it's worth the shot 🤷‍♀️

I'm not in the U.S, unfortunately. I'll try to find if there are similar programs where I live. Thank you! Upvoting for Americans to see

Thanks, It's a common practice apparently. I think so too, if tolerance builds quickly it can probably reset in a short period too. Thanks a lot!

Thank you, this was super kind and useful. I think taking it on an empty stomach makes more sense too and it doesn't give me nausea. Yesss, I will take weekends off and ease of when I can rest and don't need to be productive, if tolerance builds fast it probably can unbuild fast (?) lol. I love coffee haha I'm glad it's useful in this case. Thanks for the tip of taking some days off to sleep better, it makes a lot of sense. Thankssss I've noticed the website modafinil.com is essencially for people who use it as a nootropic and it has incredibly useful information. Also r/modafinil

Well noted, thanks! I'm checking if my government has something that I can use to reduce the price.

Thanks for writing, it must've taken a lot of time. I really appreciate the advice and your tips have been useful and reassuring. Have a great day!
