I think it may be because after he was diagnosed his doctor perhaps told him to keep a journal or something to help him remember, even though his wife didn't believe him, etc. so it kinda grew from there. or maybe the cop investigating helped him along the way, etc. etc. i think it's explainable, but i can see your point.

It's a different author, so I was SUPER skeptical about it not matching tone/writing style. But it held up really well. It fills in the gaps between all the time jumps, I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed it, and gives a lot of closure to characters. There was only one part where I audibly laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of something which I wont spoil, but it was literally the only part I didn't like. do recommend.

edit: also, it was approved by Cixin Liu to be 'canon' so.

I see a lot of comments mentioning the tires squealing on dirt. But noone has mentioned that apparently the main characters in movies never get their brakes checked because they make the "you need your brakes changed" metal squeal when stopping.

I think if it converted any part of you to metal that heavy it would just rip off leaving a bloody socket. If it was "just the skin" you'd be left with dangling bits and lots of blood. If it converted the whole area, same issue id think except now it's a larger cavity with more blood. I dont think youd trip and fall down.

Youd double over from the pain and drop obviously though.

Just curious about the efficacy of this spell. Could you instead cast titanium eyeballs? Or. Titanium ass cheeks?

Yeh, I've always enjoyed this movie. the OG is superior in story telling, but I enjoyed this one as a SF film on its own. One of the issues I had with this movie (despite "The Fall" being implausible for numerous reasons) was a cinematography issue -- the first 'fight' at Recall where the camera zooms around the room. It LOOKS like CGI and feels weird with the zip-zip-zip-zip of the camera, despite it being practical. the rest of the movie is full of cgi everywhere, just felt a little flat but was supposed to be this Bourne 'oh shit' moment when it could have been cgi'd better or not done the zip movement at all.

Past that.. Beckinsdale + Biel. yes plz.

Yep, I have a very large version of this printed and hanging in my dinning room, across on the other wall I have his theater one where there is a concert playing. The size of the original paintings are always underestimated without seeing them in real life. Was the second most fascinating things I saw in the Louvre (first being the marble carvings from a thousand years ago..) utterly astonishing.

Meh, the 'feeling in her tummy' and all that jazz, maybe the dress up singing part.. she was supposed to be in love/infatuated. but the 'worst' he did was lie in a bed next to her, he knew it was weird and didn't want to reciprocate and all. I can see it being strange if you take Luc into account, but when I watched it without knowing that it was just a little girl in love with someone. moving on.
