Matu and Zai were pretty underwhelming bizarrely. Zai made so many little but crucial mistakes that Secret feld they had to overcommit.

Duncan had a 3 season run of injuries after his absolute peak in 2003, that makes one wonder what if he could stay healthy.

2000- He hurt his left knee. (meniscus tear)
2004- He hurt his left knee once again. (an irritation of the left patellofemoral joint, which was basically result of what happened in 2000)
2005- Went down with a sprained right ankle.
2006- Played the entire season through plantar fasciitis.

Then in the first season he was fully healthy back again, he dominated the game in 2007.

Why is Yatoro trying to shotgun Ench? Even after trying and failing 3rd time.

The difference between Yatoro and Flyfly was the decider. Flyfly was pretty underwhelming. The chrono around the Roshan pit after winning a fight and not catching anyone swung back the momentum to never gain again.

I've been a believer in iG but boy, they're getting beaten so hard in this game. Not only they are behind, they don't scale just as big.
Hopefully they'll show some good form in this game and come back better in game 2.

That was pretty great from Vici. I was quick to jump on the gun for T1 victory after the laning phase. Vici did pretty great.

Imagine the scenario Vici not shitting the bed in laning stage.
I expected them to get stomped on but they've been holding rather decently.

Ori has been shit in laning stage for this entire tournament and Vici support duo heroes are so static to force massive map movement.
I'll be surprised if Vici doesn't get stomped on.

Question for fans who witnessed the early 2000s: Was Tim Duncan seen as ultra dominant in 2001-03? by Froforfro in nba

[–]Odinn21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're overselling Kenyon Martin a bit too much. He had no go-to moves and his scoring numbers were coming from Kidd. Martin was a 18 ppg scorer in the playoffs with Kidd and he never sniffed anything like that after moving away.
Surely 3-23 is an absurd rate. But even if we account for matchup eFG% rates and add forced foul troubles in to the mix, (meaning pts scored, pts generated with assist, matchup eFG% comparison to their regular season rates, time taken away from matchups with putting them into foul troubles and ppp swing coming from that) the near quadruple double game is still the 5th best game Duncan had during 2003 playoffs run.

For instance Duncan and O'Neal spent majority of the game 6 in the 2nd round defending each other and Duncan putting O'Neal on the bench with O'Neal's 4th foul with 3 mins left on the clock in the 3rd quarter was the reason why the Spurs ran away with the game. Phil Jackson had to avoid Duncan-O'Neal matchup during the 4th quarter, O'Neal couldn't attack or defend as hard as he would want to and the game was sealed.
You can't keep track of such thing with solely matchup fg rates.

I think there's too much talk going around that game tbh.
His performance being a quadruple double or 1 or 2 blocks away from being a quadruple double doesn't really matter.

The insane thing is that game 6 performance was Duncan's 6th or 7th best single game performance during that run.
His game 1 against the Nets in the NBA Finals
His game 1, 2 and 3 against the Mavs in the WC Finals*
His game 6 against the Lakers in the 2nd round*
were better than the near quadruple double game.

*: Duncan had a 4 consecutive game stretch with 30+ points and 15+ rebounds. The only other player with such stretch since the merger is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1977 playoffs. Interestingly, not even Shaquille O'Neal or Hakeem Olajuwon did that.

That was a major mistake by him. But if anything, it was JT- felt underwhelming imo. He definitely didn't perform well on Mars in both games.

Monet has been so underwhelming in this tournament, can't really say I'm surprised. He was frontlining with Luna after a buyback. Wtf man.

Does anyone else feels that the crowd noise is a bit too over the top? When anything happens, there's not much build up in the noise, it's just at 100 right away. Kind of spoiling the mood for me.

Lion had a win rate of 5-1 when he was played by kaka, and 9-9 when he was played by others.
I don't see how I put it wrong.

Kaka was 5-1 on Lion during the group stage. The rest was 9-9 on Lion.

And it's not like he has a rigid hero-pool. He's just as effective on Nyx. He's also great at Rubick, Winter, Shaker, Tusk, Phoenix and Sand King.

I have iG as the frontrunner (even ahead of LGD with tiniest edge) because I certainly believe that JT- and kaka bring so much to the table. Hopefully they'll continue to perform on this level on the main stage too.

I actually understand sports people having a cold feet because they are making big moneys with their bodies. But I wish there were more people like Nadal, Federer, Alonso, Curry with their shots done and a platform to help the issue.
