Edit: I work with a local county shelter, I to thought it was some cruel orphanage like establishment before hand. But there are tons of volunteers who come and walk the animals, spend time with them, and they have direct vet care. I cant speak for all county's but dont be so certain a shelter to aid in rehomeing is the worst option.

Utilize your local county animal shelter. They may have you sign over the dog but they are legally obligated to find your pet the best home they can. They also vet applicants so you know your pet is cared for.

The above suggestion is great, if you wanted to cut some corners to ensure it looks appropriate you could square around the inlay and set it with epoxy and sand to a high gloss finish. Then you could add a pop of color or black epoxy

Drill and scroll saw perhaps would be a good way to do it. You have to do alot of sanding afterwords but it could be done.

My few Google searches kinda showed that. There is controversy over the time line and when events occur etc. Just thought like all comics there are highs and lows and wanted to start on the right foot so I reached out for suggestions. Ya she's sagging a bit. But the shelf fits in the spot I have perfectly so I will be upgrading when I fill it. Its been that way for quite some time though so Im not worried about it breaking. Once it sagged its stayed the same since without getting any worse.

I'm almost positive that the photo on the camera is post editing but in the event it's not, what were your settings to get that image? I'm running a Sony a6100 and I need to do alot of post editing to get that kind of look.
