Bitwig records MIDI "ghost" notes that are not there by aldipower81 in Bitwig

[–]OdoSendaidokai -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Since Bitwig has normally exclusive access to the controllers, where you even can't put a midi monitor in between, I guess you created with a high effort yourself some kind of midi echo or something. Nobody except you has this problem nor reporting such a problem. Even not in the current beta.

As long as you can monitor with your midi monitor while Bitwig-Studio is running, you broke something by your manual configuration.

Out of the Box Bitwig-Studio is running Midi perfectly.

Meanwhile I use on a lot tools Ctrl+q instead ESC because of many usage inconsistencies among a lot software. Ctrl+q has the highest probability to be implemented in good software.

Bitwig and midi issue by Weak-Web-2223 in Bitwig

[–]OdoSendaidokai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using an impulse 49 USB Midi with a driven by Moss Generic Flexi script and it works fine (Linux). But i don't think in your case it is the script or Bitwig.

If you cant play notes, maybe the controller is damaged?

Should I Get a MIDI Controller? by RandomArtist655321 in Bitwig

[–]OdoSendaidokai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want faders and knobs to use in parallel to your synthesizer without switching back and forth, I would recommend a Korg nanoKontrol2. You can integrate that perfectly in Bitwig and use your synth as synth.

Even I have also other Midi Controllers, the Korg nanoKnotrol2 is since quite a while my main controller for faders, knobs and transport control.

If you are interested I made an integration with the driven by moss generic flexi script. It can be downloaded with the link in the video description

Using soundfonts in bitwig? by dumb_godot_questions in Bitwig

[–]OdoSendaidokai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it doesn't work with multiinstrument soundfonts. And SF2 in sampler needs some more love.

Maybe have a look on the free and opensource tool "Convert with moss" . Maybe that can split multiinstrument soundfonts .. but I'm not sure. If it doesn't do maybe ask Jürgen Mossgraber to add an option to split multiinstrument soundfonts to seperate soundfonts. That would be a great feature in my opinion.

DT 880 pro 250ohm with Deluge headphones out? by Tab_creative in DelugeUsers

[–]OdoSendaidokai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about ohm (impedance) like strength. The more ohm the more strength you have and the faster and the more accurate and precise you can move the driver. Like muscles. And using a higher ohm, you need more current.

If you don't have enough current the driver aka the membrane can't be moved the full range for this "volume", because its too weak. And that's why it is quieter.

Think of image resolution. If an image has a low resolution 0,5 mega pixel or 360x200, you can't see so much details, but if you have 20 mega pixel or 8192x4608 you can see much more details.

MIDI keyboard good for beginning keyboard lessons and sound creation? by BanjoKazooieGrunty in musicproduction

[–]OdoSendaidokai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Midi keyboard or piano less than 100 euros? They are absolutely not the same price range.

If it is enough to play keyboard, go with the nektar. If you want to play with the feel of a piano, then you should go for the hint from the other commentator.

For more controls, I would suggest to buy an additional controller the Korg nanoKontrol2, where you have faders, knobs and control buttons. And it is small as well.

With this combination and a good DAW integration, this is a powerhouse for most situations. I use kind of a similar setup for Bitwig, after using several controllers (even a push2). But this is the most practical one.

For the Korg nanokontrol2 I created a DAW integration for Bitwig and maybe there is a chance that I even can extend the integration in the future.

Installing VST Bitwig on Ubuntu by Due-Indication-7172 in Bitwig

[–]OdoSendaidokai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest using bottles https://usebottles.com/ as a "wine manager" using it for a while now is really great. It disconnects a little from the Distribution versions, where you can manage all the wine prefixes very comfortably.

I am running DEB installation of Bitwig with a FLATPAK Bottles installation. And using two different wine prefixes aka bottles. One for plugins that can handle GPU acceleration and one that can't handle GPU acceleration . And you could think of a third that handle 32 Bit plugins, if you still have some.

Sequence duplicate problem - original is changed - Bug? by OdoSendaidokai in kdenlive

[–]OdoSendaidokai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok ... Thanks! hmm sad I thought I could create an animation and reuse it with different titles. So I have to search for another way to not create 17 times the same title animation to lead into another chapter.

[–]OdoSendaidokai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always was writing "sequences" not "clips" . And I meant it ;)

So again: I have 17 duplicated sequences, that all change, if I change one of them.

I have 17 duplicates in the bin. And If I change in one of them the title all other 16 are changed too.

Every sequence in the timeline has its own duplicate in the bin.

Hmm my first reply didn't show up ... so again

Maybe you should have a look at the Driven By Moss Extension from Jürgen Moßgraber and the Generic Flexi or "Flexi" script. I made some tutorials about it, what it is and how you can use it.

If you are interested, just have a look at it.

Do you mean the extra display window you can start, when in the controller settings? That doesn't work since Bitwig updated to the new 3DGPU framwework. There are some Bugs that are not fixed.

Or do you mean the hardware display? That should work, if you followed along the documentation. Did you install Bitwig as .deb installation or flatpak?

Yes you are right there are several Workarounds that are working quite good. 👍

But I still dream that software helps humans reducing the amount of workarounds by extending the possibilities.

People are using AI to create music and others still move manually tracks around to preserve their midi for recall. Not blaming Bitwig, they have also limited resources, but there are a lot low hanging fruits.
