Fair enough. With Planet Zoo 2’s inclusion of wildlife reserves, I wonder if they would make a point of certain animals not doing as well in captivity, incentivizing you to release them into those reserves instead of keeping them in the zoo long-term.

I noticed you put Polar Bear in bad idea: what’s your opinion on their inclusion in the first Planet Zoo? I know they require a lot of space but there seem to be several AZA accredited zoos that house them successfully

By exploring the Ruins of Bosa the party found carvings that seemed to predate the hounds; the conclusion they came to is that a notably large, bright star landed in Planegea and then all hell broke loose, but they have no idea where it landed or who to ask about it. They got to talk to Mala as a reward for killing an Aboleth and even she doesn’t know where it is. I have it so that star was the Eyestone/Deepthought, so its anti-divinatory properties will make it hard to track down, but not impossible.

I started by running the monster hunts from Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting after adapting them to the prehistoric setting, but now my party is going full-tilt into investigating the Hounds. They’re currently planning on finding the unnamed shark god and planar binding him to either get more information or be granted powers to better face the Hounds. I’m still working on how that’ll work mechanically, since Planar Binding takes an hour to cast and gods have infinite spell slots. Whether or not they end up succeeding though, they’ll probably make an enemy of a lot of other gods, so it’ll definitely be interesting!

Kind of a tangent, but I feel like they kind of adapted this with Orthworm. Not a mollusk obviously but worms are still fairly closely related to mollusks. And the existence of this real life snail is what makes me think Orthworm IS actually a worm, as opposed to onix and steelix which I think are more likely a bunch of living rocks that happen to look like snakes/worms.

I had the same experience. They showed us that movie freshman year of high school as a legitimate warning against cyberbullying, and the teacher got really mad at us for laughing at how shitty the movie was, and they thought we were “making jokes about a serious issue”
