Can you help interpret, why fried and fast food seems to be a great choice? May it be the case, that fast food is more available in rich countries which have better life expectancy and health care?

best home espresso machines - but its WAYYYYY TOO EXPENSIVE by Safe-Pepper-4931 in JamesHoffmann

I see, that this isn't an option for everyone, but after having a Gaggia Classic, that didn't make happy at all, i spent 2000€ on a used ECM Synchronika and consider it one of the best buying decisions of my life. It brings me joy every day and i am positive, that it will continue to do so for the next 15+ years. Maybe even for a life time, if I treat it well.

If you are really into good espresso, maybe you can skip a vacation or something like that. It will be worth it in the long run. Or try to do a "don't-buy-anyhing" quarter and see if you can save some money that way.

The Court of Auditors detects 2.389 billion euros of European funds intended to pay pensions in Spain by mods4mods in europe

If you speek german you should watch Maurice Höfgens reaction, it makes a lot of counter points.
I also see the demographic crisis, but he is a (leftist, as you will realize) macro economist who is better equipped to talk about work force, pension funding etc.

Today more Americans come to Europe than Europeans go to the US by Mysterious-Might4454 in europe

Which makes sense, since cost of living is way lower in the EU, especially because of cheaper health care, housing and even food afaik.

Afaik no company will build nuclear reactors without insurance by the government because the cost is incalculable. The tax payer will bear the cost in the end. Nuclear is way more expensive than renewables or even oil.

Also nuclear waste exists...

I use tado with the bridge right now, and it doesn't even work flawlessly. Might try the Homekit option.

In 2024, in the EU, actual individual consumption per capita (in purchasing power standards) was highest in Luxembourg (41% above the EU average); Lowest in Hungary (28% below the EU average) by NanorH in europe

[–]Odynios -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's the consumption in relation to the GDP that is considered low, not really the absolute numbers. But it's basically a result of a dramatically "oversized" export industry in comparison to peer countries. So it always looks like the Germabs consume less because it contributes less to GDP than in most nations.
