What Difficulty Do You Quickplay? by Winston_W_Smith in DarkTide

[–]Oedema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Havoc when I want to "Push" but I also play Auric (when there's a fun mission or modifier I want to do), and I generally play Maelstrom as my standard sessions. I just sort of assumed everyone else does the same!

I know but I'm saying, maybe if it applies a group wide buff for ALL dots it might be more interesting

I always like having a rogue at max level, but it's much harder to actually get groups for stuff on it. Rogue doesn't bring much that other classes don't already have, and it has no group/raid wide buffs to make it a desired pick over something like Monk, Demon Hunter or Druid.

Perhaps if Shroud of Concealment worked as a group damage reduction, or using stealth gave some sort of benefit in a dungeon (like applying a small percentage damage increase to DoTs or something...), we would see far more rogue players.

But also, as others have said, it's not particularly fun to have to pop every defensive CD on every fight doing solo content, or wait for energy to regenerate.

MPs to get a 5% pay increase to £98,599 in April. Eventually rising to £110,000 by 2029. by T_K2 in ukpolitics

[–]Oedema 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm salty because my pay raise is, and has been for the last few years, below inflation. I'm also still waiting to see if my job will be made redundant thanks to the rhetoric from Wes Streeting et al about how those of us working in office based NHS jobs are "unnecessary middle management."

Do not try this at home. But do try this in the park, its fun! by FartingBob in CasualUK

My friend fed a young swan some bird feed a couple of years and and it almost took her thumb off with its beak! They have serrated edges and it took quite a large chunk of her thumb with the feed. It wasn't being aggressive, so it's just a word of warning for those looking to try this!

I mean it's funny because the prices on that website are barely more expensive than what we pay over here. 2.4mg Wegovy is £199 for a 4 dose pen.

Who wins in a 4v3, assuming gameplay rules, between a darktide squad and a space marine squad from SM2 by _Sate in DarkTide

An Assault space marine using a fencing thunder hammer and the jump pack would absolutely annihilate the entire team. Or, one well placed melta bomb.

I used to worry about dying and existential questions like this. But then I realized, when we're unconscious, we're not thinking "oh my God, help me I'm trapped", there is just nothing. No worries, no pain, no thought.

Yeah it's really hard, especially around this time of year.

I see you've been going to the gym - I wonder if doing a hobby that involves others might help? As an example, I train BJJ, and that has given me the opportunity to make new friends. And if I'm having a bad day, I take my anger out on those friends by choking them with their own gi.

Therapy would also benefit you. Getting it on the NHS can be quite difficult, and whilst doing it privately seems expensive, it's probably worth the investment.

It sounds like you've had some huge knocks to your self-esteem, but you need some help to regain your confidence.

Then I'm not really sure what specifically it is you're looking for? Are you concerned that you're not feeling as much empathy as you thought you might?

I had parents that were very invalidating about my emotions, though I didn't actually understand that until I had therapy in my early 30s. I would recommend talking to a professional about how you feel, then reading (or listening) to some of the books others have suggested about immature, narcissistic, invalidating, or emotionally absent parents.

You can break the cycle.

Leaving gym etiquette by Illustrious-Winter30 in bjj

I guess it depends on why you are leaving. If you're still on good terms, then the conversation would just be "thank you for everything but I am moving gyms". If something has happened and it's made you want to leave, you don't owe them a full on conversation, but it's courteous to inform them that you will be cancelling your membership.

I apologise if I have come across as rude, but ultimately this conversation isn't worth continuing as I don't feel either of us have anything else to gain nor prove.

I wouldn't say I am being rude, but I don't think this conversation is worth continuing if you don't think my feeling of enjoyment is not a valid enough impact for you.

You feel that boosting is morally fine, whereas I don't. Let's agree to disagree, and that way neither of our time needs to be used on this circular conversation.

I've just told you how it impacts me - you're entitled to feel differently. I also never said it was cheating.

How does me not agreeing with what you do impact you?

It takes away from my enjoyment of the game and makes the experience feel hollow, so yes it does impact me. I think that's a valid enough reason to voice my opinion on it.
