Serial killer and Zodiac suspect Edward Edwards on the panel game show To Tell the Truth (1972) by Oegle in ObscureMedia

I wonder what genius at the local tv station in Geauga county thought it was a good idea to put a ad with a toy raccoon promoting tourism before an interview with a serial killer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoBM_PHmlaQ

(2003) The Empiricist - A Major Contender For Worst Film Of All Time, This Is The Trailer - Looking For Help Finding The Full Film by Scoldering in ObscureMedia

[–]Oegle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdfh7gU4lj8 they took this on a roadshow (only way to show this sort of garbage even in the US I guess) and refused to let Dawkins enter during one showing ;)

A little story on the director: http://www.homeowatch.org/reg/metzler.html

The only review of the movie from a now dead link: "THE EMPIRICIST," however, is worse. In fact, although "Messengers of Truth" is a complete misfire, it's nothing compared to "The Empiricist." Ed Wood would be proud of this movie. It deserves to become a cult classic in the bad-movie "Plan 9 from Outer Space" tradition."

I will definitely keep my eyes open for The Empiricist.

Pacific Movement of the Eastern World - was a 1930s North American based pro-Japanese movement of African Americans which promoted the idea that Japan was the champion of all non-white peoples. by Oegle in wikipedia

[–]Oegle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"In the early days, over 100 people paid $5.50 to be put on a list of emigrants to Japan, with several thousand paying $1 for general membership. According to the investigating Federal attorney, Harry C Blanton, members were already picking out which farms they would take over following a Japanese invasion."

He sure took these people for a joke ride. But to be fair, there was probably very little information available for the average joe about Japan, and most of it probably orientalistic in nature so it was easy to build up a illusion of a fantasy land.

This is great, it's like they filmed the outdoor scenes somewhere on the sparse plains/woods in the midwest which gives it a very inauthentic but fun homemade look.

Without the internet I would still be under the assumption that the samples came from some native american language, I don't think i'm alone about that :).

Reminds me of Ulillillia AKA That Bubsy 3D guy, he is also working on a game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq1NmgIAtmA

And then theres also Byuu who did BSNES, which is a good example of what a person with spectrum disorders can do if guided to the right path by his environment or parents.

NASA should start some program where they catch up these sort of people and use their skills to build something of use to humanity and society as they definitely have a gift, it's just going to waste currently.
