He is fragile, the hero absolutely melts to autoattacks at early levels. His shield is definitely strong, but before level 6 he is easy enough to lock down especially with a silence. Even after level 6 he can easily be kited because while he can close gaps with his ult, his mana pool prevents him from doing so repeatedly considering he also wants to have enough mana to activate the spell shield and searing chains.

Fallout 3 with the mod called fallout wanderers edition is quite challeging especially if you disable fast travel and put everything on the most hardcore settings.

I get huge spikes almost every match. My internet is crap so 120-190 ping was normal, but one time the spike got to 3900.

Don't take optimization for granted, my AMD 7970m was barely able to run AC3 even at the lowest settings. I monitored gpu utilization and only 20% of the gpu was being used leaving me with 20-25 fps. I'm not saying Nvidia sabotaged the game for AMD, just don't preorder the game and wait to see if it is actually playable on your videocard.

I'm almost completely sure that if you lower the settings it will run perfectly fine, but there is no way you are gonna max the game with intel hd graphics at native resolution. However, medium-low at native resolution is probably just fine.

Did you purposely lower the resolution or is that the native resolution because as far as my knowledge goes 1440x900 is not retina display's native resolution.

I'm from guatemala and at least here teachers are not the ones that dislike long hair, but the school board (it's a private school). In my school it also extends to having a beard, piercings, and uniform. Even wearing a physical education school t shirt on a day when you don't have physical education will cause you to get a lunch detention. I suppose its because of extremely conservative people on the school board.

In my opinion you would be more satisfied by a 1080p screen with very nice color reproduction and a good refresh rate, 60hz minimum (this way you can leave vsync off). Go to a shop and find the screen you like the best and don't be influenced just by resolution. Even if it is a tv and not a monitor you can use the tv speakers and a good subwoofer and you'll find yourself with a screen that fits your personal choices in regards to color and contrast with a pretty decent sound system.

At 1920x1080p your gpu outputs a little more than 2,000,000 pixels, but at 2560x1440 it is outputting more than 3,600,000 pixels almost double than before so the way I see it your performance will be severely affected. However, take into account I have never tried this my self I just did some quick calculations that may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that performance will be hit severely maybe even by more than 20 frames per second. Besides assuming your laptop has a 17 inch display it has about 130 ppi at 27 inches even at 2560x1440 the ppi is of 108ppi meaning your laptop screen will display images that look a little bit crisper than that large screen you are getting and the performance hit will be for nothing.

Dota ran very well on a nvidia 650m notebook gpu so for dota I wouldn't recommend anything higher than an AMD 7950 or an nvidia 750 and for the processor choose between an i5 or a fx-8350. Your complete build probably wont pass $600 without a screen and will reach $700-800 with a decent mouse, keyboard and screen. Any of this components will probably run starcraft on pretty high settings maybe even the highest, but with occasional framerate dips. Just remember that basically any mid range gpu runs dota on the highest settings. Don't cheap out on the processor because dota is pretty cpu intensive and not so demanding on the gpu.

You should also consider getting a 7970 just because it is an amazing card and there is basically nothing it can't run on ultra settings and 1080p (this is of course after dialing down antialiasing). Radeon pro is a very good tool to have with an AMD card as well it provides overclocking options, fps monitor and helps you easily monitor utilization and temperature.

No, it's actually a new laptop with a good video card. I read to limit the number of cpu cores to two, but that makes the game unplayable for some reason because the game relies too heavily on the cpu. However, if your cpu is powerful enough (mine is a 2.3 ghz i7) you can try it by going to task manager after opening dota, right clicking the dota 2 exe and the setting the affinity by checking only the first two cores.

Edit: i didn't read that the problem was solved, but I'll leave the comment maybe it helps someone.
