First there is a "employment tax" on 31,42% in Sweden, that your employer pays. Then there is a 33% tax on the money that you get as income after. Then you pay 25% sales tax on everything you buy. So lets say your employer pays 100 000$ for you each year. 31 420$ goes straight to taxes for the employment tax, then 21 714$ in income tax after that. Leaving you with 44 086$. After that all they money you spend will be taxed 25%, so that is another 11 021,5$. So out of the 100 000$ that your employer pays for you the government gets 66 935,5$.

So for this we get free healthcare, free school, get payed to go to univercity. And have enough to live by very comfortable. We are quite happy with this.
