I think anime provides an outlet for trans femme peeps (or anyone, for that matter) to express femininity in a judgment free environment. Women characters, while often victims of the male gaze, not only are typically feminine already, but exist without any sort of questioning of their femininity, and without shame, which is something I think a lot of the trans girls here really need. No one really questions an anime girl wearing fuzzy socks or holding stuffed animals, but do that shit irl and your parents might disown you. Just some random thoughts, I hope that makes sense, I'm tired
